FORSTER GORING,
Clerk of the Executive Council.
Teachers holding Certificates or Licenses under “The Education Act, 1877.”
Education Department,
Wellington, 30th June, 1887.
THE following list of teachers is issued in accordance with the sixteenth section of an Order in Council dated the 24th September, 1878. In the column setting forth the reasons of the promotion of certain teachers, the letter M stands for Inspector’s marks, the letter S for length of service, and the letter E for examination. An asterisk denotes that a certificate is provisional, or that the issue of the certificate is deferred.
In every case in which the Department possesses sufficient knowledge as to the present engagement of a teacher in the service of a Board the name of the Board is inserted in the list. Any teacher whose engagement is not correctly indicated would do well to communicate with the Inspector-General of Schools.
The annual examination for certificates is in future to be held between the 7th and the 17th days of January, and candidates must give notice of their wish to be examined not later than the 31st day of October immediately before the examination.
