VINCENT COUNTY COUNCIL.—NOTICE UNDER SECTION 39 OF “THE LOCAL BODIES’ LOANS ACT, 1886.”
NOTICE is hereby given that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the Vincent County, held in accordance with the above Act, on Saturday, the 14th day of May, 1887, on the proposal of the said Council to borrow the sum of £3,000 under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” the following result accrued:—
Number of ratepayers entitled to vote, 991; entitled to record, 1,088 votes.
Votes recorded for the proposal .. .. 462
Number of ratepayers that recorded their votes in favour of proposal .. .. 380
Votes against .. .. .. 7
Number of ratepayers that recorded their votes against the proposal .. .. 7
Informal votes .. .. .. 4
And whereas a majority in number of the ratepayers did not vote in favour of the above proposal, now, therefore, in accordance with section 39 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” I declare the said proposal to be rejected.

SPECIAL ORDER made by Hobson County Council, adopting “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” at a Meeting of the Council on the 25th day of May, 1887.
RESOLVED, That this Council hereby adopts “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” generally, for the purpose of obtaining from time to time money, by way of loan, for the construction of public works and for other purposes in terms of the said Act.
I hereby certify that the special order adopting “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” has been made in accordance with the law.

Bonus for Canned and Cured Fish for Export.

IT is hereby notified that bonuses under “The Fisheries Encouragement Act, 1885,” as set forth in the following sections (Nos. 8, 9, and 10) of that Act, will be paid subject to the conditions named therein, and in the regulations contained in the Order in Council of even date herewith.
JULIUS VOGEL.
- In order to encourage the production and curing of fish for export, the Colonial Treasurer shall during the next seven years after the passing of this Act, without further appropriation by Parliament, pay out of the Consolidated Fund to any person who shall prepare canned and cured fish for export, and actually export the same from the colony, a bonus or bonuses upon the quantity of canned and cured fish prepared and exported by such person as hereinafter mentioned, that is to say,—
(1.) In respect of the first 200 tons avoirdupois of fish canned with or without oil, the sum of 1d. per pound,
