HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint

Sergeant PATRICK McGRATH

to be an Inspector of Weights and Measures, under "The
Weights and Measures Act, 1868," for the Counties of Waipa,
Waikato, Piako, and Raglan, and for the Boroughs of
Hamilton and Cambridge.

JAMES HEMPHILL

to be the Clerk of the Otamatea County Council, for the
purpose of presiding at the first meeting of the said Council,
to be held on the 28th instant, in accordance with the pro-
visions of sections 78 and 91 of "The Counties Act, 1886."
The appointment to date from the 22nd March, 1887.

that he has been informed by Her Majesty's Principal
Secretary of State for the Colonies that the Queen's
exequatur, empowering

EDWARD VALDEMAR JOHANSEN, Esq.,

to act as Danish Consul at Auckland, received Her Majesty's
signature on the 27th January, 1887, and that the notifica-
tion of Her Majesty's approval of this appointment appeared
in the London Gazette of the 28th January, 1887.
