Declaring State Forests in the Land Districts of Auckland, Marlborough, and Otago.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The New Zealand State Forests Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby set apart the forest lands described in the Schedule hereto, forming part of the Crown lands of New Zealand, as and for State forests within the provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that piece or parcel of land situate in the Hukerenui Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 500 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North by a line, 8000 links; towards the East by a line, 6250 links; towards the South by a line, 8000 links; and towards the West by a line, 6250 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Also, all that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 60 acres, more or less, situate in the Survey District of Waitemata, Provincial District of Auckland, being Section No. 169 of the Parish of Waipareira; commencing at the south-west corner of Section No. 126. Bounded on the North by Section No. 126 aforesaid of the Parish of Waipareira, 2840 links; thence on the South-east by a road reserved, 50 links wide, along the north-west side of a tramway reserve, 322, 512, 758, 403, 405, 253, 293, 213, 251, 191, 306, 357, 230, 184, 375, and 240 links; thence on the West by Sections Nos. 11 and 9 of the Parish of Waipareira, 3880 links, to the starting-point: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less.

MARLBOROUGH.

All that area in the Survey Districts of Whakamarina and Onamalutu, Provincial District of Marlborough, estimated to contain 6,000 acres; commencing at the south-eastern corner of Native Reserve, Section No. 32, Wakamarina District. Bounded generally Northerly and Westerly by that section and by Sections Nos. 1, 3, and 4, Wakamarina District, to the summit of the dividing range between the Pelorus and Wakamarina Valleys; thence by that summit to Trig. H, Wakamarina District aforesaid; thence by a reserve for the growth and preservation of timber, as defined in New Zealand Gazette, 1881, page 669, to a point due south of Trig. H aforesaid; thence by a line bearing due south to the Wakamarina River; thence by a line bearing 135° to a leading spur between Deep Creek and Mountain Camp Creek, and by that spur to another reserve for the growth and preservation of timber, as defined in New Zealand Gazette of date and page as aforesaid; thence Southerly and Easterly by that reserve to a point due east of the southernmost corner of Section No. 30, Block X., Wakamarina District aforesaid; thence again Northerly by a right line bearing due west to and across the Wakamarina River aforesaid; thence again Easterly by that river to the commencing-point: as the same is more particularly delineated on the official plan in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Blenheim.

OTAGO.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 1,000 acres, more or less, situate in Block V., Gimmerburn District; commencing at the south-west corner of Section No. 16 of Block III. of said district, and bearing from thence by a line due south to the Old Dunstan Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along said road to the south-east corner of Section No. 17 of Block III. of said district; thence due West to the south-west corner of Section No. 16 of said Block III., the starting-point.

Also, all that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 1,500 acres, more or less, situate in Blocks III. and IV., Maniototo District; commencing at Trig. Station E of said district, and bearing from thence by a line due west to the Hogburn; thence in a southerly direction along the Hogburn for a distance of about a hundred chains; thence due East to the main road to Kyeburn; thence in a north-westerly direction along said road to Trig. Station E, the starting-point.

Licensing Districts defined.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of “The Licensing Act, 1881,” it is enacted that the Governor shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the commencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the Gazette, from time to time define districts to be licensing districts under the said Act, and from time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the same:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, alter and redefine the boundaries of the Alfredton, Castlepoint, and Masterton Licensing Districts, which shall, from and after the twelfth day of April instant, be those described in the First Schedule hereto; and do hereby proclaim and define the part of the colony mentioned and described in the Second Schedule hereto to be, from and after the said twelfth day of April instant, an ordinary licensing district for the purposes of the said Act.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

Wairarapa North County.

Alfredton Licensing District.

All that area in the County of Wairarapa North bounded towards the North-east and North by the County of Waipawa; towards the South-east by the Castlepoint Licensing District, hereinafter described; towards the South generally by the Upper Tauru Road District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 70, of the 13th June, 1884; towards the South-west generally by the Mauriceville Road District, as described in Gazette No. 23, of the 15th April, 1886; and towards the North-west by the Counties of Horowhenua and Oruua: exclusive of the Pahiatua Town District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 41, of the 5th August, 1886.

Castlepoint Licensing District.

All that area in the County of Wairarapa North bounded towards the North-east by the County of Patangata; towards the South-east by the ocean; towards the South-west by the County of Wairarapa South; towards the North-west by the said County of Wairarapa South to the Taueru River; thence by a line along the middle of the said Taueru River to the Upper Taueru Road District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 70, of the 13th June, 1884; thence by that road district, the Alfredton Road District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 51, of the 30th September, 1886, and the Pahiatua Road District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 125, of the 1st December, 1883.

Masterton Licensing District.

ALL that area in the County of Wairarapa North bounded towards the North-east and North generally by the Alfredton
