Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Line of Railway from Kaukapakapa to Te Awamutu.—Kaipara Contract.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the line of railway from Kaukapakapa to Te Awamutu is one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and which Act is, in the seventh section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorizing the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same, namely, Kaipara Contract :

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section seven of “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on the northern boundary of that portion of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway known as the “Helensville Contract,” taken by memorial dated the 14th May, 1878, and published in the Gazette of the 23rd May, 1878, within the Otamateanui Block, No. 1581, and about 35 miles and 68 chains north of Newmarket, and proceeding thence in a northerly and easterly direction skirting the Kaipara and Kaukapakapa Rivers for a distance of 4 miles and 12 chains, and passing in, through, into, or over the following blocks and lots, namely: Otamateanui, No. 1581; Tungotungou, No. 2209; Unahirere, No. 280; Lots 93, 71, 72, 21, 20, and a reserve, Parish of Ararimu, and terminating within Lot No. 17, Parish of Ararimu ; including all intervening places, roads, rivers, streams, and watercourses ; in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 14647, and deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Auckland, in the Provincial District of Auckland ; the total length being 4 miles 12 chains.

Land set apart for a Village Homestead Special Settlement for Perpetual Leasing in the Auckland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-second section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the sections of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart and declared open for application as a village homestead special settlement for perpetual leasing, upon the terms and conditions fixed by an Order in Council issued on the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and made under the one hundred and sixty-third section of the said Act.
