ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of February, 1887.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the Maungakawa-Waiorongomai Road, in the Waitoa Road District, shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

THE parcel of land mentioned hereunder:—

Approximate Area of the Parcel of Land required to be taken. Being Portion of Situated in the Survey District of
A. R. P. 1 0 37·3 Awapikopiko Block, No. 1590 Maungakawa.

Declaring a certain Road in the County of Kaikoura to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of February, 1887.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the road in the County of Kaikoura, described in the Schedule below, shall, on and after the date above mentioned, become a county road.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of the Kaikoura-Waiau Road commencing at a point 23 miles 11¼ chains from Waiau Township, being the intersection of the road with the boundary of the Amuri and Kaikoura Counties, and proceeding thence generally in an easterly direction for a distance of 12 miles 1¾ chains or thereabouts, and terminating at a point 35 miles 13 chains from the Township of Waiau, all in the County of Kaikoura, in the Provincial District of Marlborough; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 14450, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of February, 1887.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the road in the County of Amuri, described in the Schedule below, shall, on and after the date above mentioned, become a county road.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of the Kaikoura-Waiau Road commencing at a point on the left bank of the Mason River 5 miles from the Township of Waiau, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly and easterly direction for a distance of 11 miles 51½ chains or thereabouts, and terminating at a point 16 miles 51½ chains from the Township of Waiau, all in the County of Amuri, in the Provincial District of Nelson.

Also all that portion of the Kaikoura-Waiau Road commencing at a point on the right bank of the Conway River 22 miles 76 chains distant from the Waiau Township, and proceeding thence generally in an easterly direction for a distance of 15¼ chains or thereabouts, and terminating at a point distant 23 miles 11¼ chains from the Township of Waiau, being the intersection of the road with the boundary of the Amuri and Kaikoura Counties; as the same is more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 14450, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Powers delegated to the Geraldine Town Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of February, 1887.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the twenty-third day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice and consent, by this present order, delegate, but only with respect to the pieces or parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to

The GERALDINE TOWN BOARD,

which shall be known as the Geraldine Domain Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the fourth Wednesday in each month, at 2 o’clock p.m., at the Town Board Offices, Geraldine, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the twenty-third day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the fourth Wednesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.
