A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” for the construction of a public work within the meaning of the said Act: And whereas all notices and acts required by law to be given and done have been duly given and performed, and the Minister for Public Works has laid before the Governor a memorial containing a list of the lands proposed to be taken as aforesaid, together with a map showing accurately the position and extent thereof, as required by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the Acts amending the same:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and “The Public Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the construction of a public work within the meaning of “The Public Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” namely, construction of works for purpose of defence at Deborah Bay, Port Chalmers.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Wellington-Napier Railway, to take further land at Napier Station, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-second section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the sections of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart and declared open for application as village homestead special settlements for perpetual leasing, upon the terms and conditions fixed by an Order in Council issued on the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and made under the one hundred and sixty-third section of the said Act.
