this Proclamation in the Gazette, be a police gaol within the meaning and for the purposes of “The Prisons Act, 1882.”

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

Land taken for Further Portion of the North Island Main Trunk Line of Railway, from a Point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumarunui, and the Ongaruhe River Valley (Portion of Porewa Section).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further portion of the North Island Main Trunk Railway, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumarunui, and the Ongaruhe River Valley (portion of Porewa Section): And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land in the manner hereby provided have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further portion of the line of railway hereinbefore specified.

The parcel of land mentioned hereunder:—

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the sixth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the Proclamation of the fourteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, by His Excellency the Governor, setting apart sections of land for a village homestead special settlement on perpetual lease, shall be and the same is hereby revoked in so far as it relates to the section of land enumerated in the Schedule hereto.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the one hundred and thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the section of land enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be set apart for lease, with right of renewal, under the provisions of Part IV. of “The Land Act, 1885.”
