Regulations fixing Mode of Repayment of Moneys borrowed under “The New Zealand State Forests Act, 1885.”

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the eighth section of “The New Zealand State Forests Act, 1885,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby make the regulations set forth in the Schedule hereto, for the purposes in the said section mentioned.

SCHEDULE.

  1. For the purpose of securing moneys borrowed under the 7th section of “The New Zealand State Forests Act, 1885,” the Commissioner of State Forests shall make, sign, and issue debentures in the form hereunder written:—

Issued under Regulations made under “The New Zealand State Forests Act, 1885.”

The principal and interest of this debenture are a first charge upon the revenues arising from State Forests, in the manner prescribed by the said Act.

On presentation of this debenture at the Treasury, Wellington, on or after the day of , 18 , the bearer thereof will be entitled to receive pounds.

Interest on this debenture, at the rate of per centum per annum, will be paid, on application, at the Treasury, Wellington, on the day of and the day of in each year during the currency of the debenture, commencing on the day of .

  1. Each debenture shall be for a sum of not less than £100 and not exceeding £500, and shall bear interest at the rate of per annum, payable half-yearly.

  2. The principal of each debenture shall be payable at the Treasury, at Wellington, within the period of twenty years from the date of the money being advanced, and interest shall be payable at the same place.

  3. If the principal of any debenture, or the interest payable thereon, is not paid when due respectively, on presentation at the Treasury, Wellington, the Colonial Treasurer shall, without any further process or proceeding, pay the amount due out of any funds then or that may thereafter be standing at the credit of the State Forests Account, directed to be kept under the said Act.

  4. Nothing in these regulations shall prejudice the right of the holder of the debenture to receive or recover payment of any principal or interest out of any other fund, or in any other manner that may be required or allowed by law.

  5. Every debenture issued under these regulations shall be numbered in consecutive order, and upon issue shall be registered in the Treasury, at Wellington.

Fixing Shooting Season for Deer, License-fee, &c., Nelson District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1881,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that deer (bucks or stags only) may be taken or killed within the Nelson District, consisting of the Counties of Waimea, Buller, and Collingwood, from the twentieth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the twentieth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Nelson is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses.

Time for Trout-fishing in Provincial District of Nelson extended.

WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor of the Colony did, by warrant under his hand dated the sixteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, make certain regulations for trout-fishing in the Provincial District of Nelson: And whereas one of the said regulations authorizes fishing for trout from the first day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, to the twenty-eighth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and it is expedient that the said period should be further extended:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Salmon and Trout Act, 1867,” doth hereby extend the time within which trout may be caught within the Provincial District of Nelson to the thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventeenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

Vesting a Reserve at the Thames.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1885,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby vest in the Thames County Council, as a site for county offices, all that parcel of land in the Township of Shortland, Provincial District of Auckland, bounded towards the North-east by Mackay Street, fifty-five feet; towards the South-east by Allotment number four hundred and thirty-three, sixty-six feet; towards the South-west by Allotment number four hundred and thirty-five, fifty-five feet; and towards the North-west by Mary Street, sixty-six feet: together with any buildings or tenements erected thereon.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eleventh day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
