Warrant appointing additional Commissioners for the
Colonial and Indian Exhibition.

VICTORIA, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of
Great Britain and Ireland Queen, Defender of the Faith,
Empress of India, &c. :

To Our Trusty and Well-beloved the Honourable George
Marsden Waterhouse, a Member of the Legislative Council
of Our Colony of New Zealand; Walter Kennaway,
Esquire ; Nathaniel William Levin, Esquire; Frederick
William Pennefather, Esquire; Benjamin Petersen,
Esquire; John Macfarlane Ritchie, Esquire; George Gray
Russell, Esquire; and Frederick Young, Esquire.

WHEREAS by a warrant under Our hand dated the
thirteenth day of November, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-five, certain Commissioners were ap-
pointed to devise and carry out the details necessary for the
transmission to London of any articles the produce or manu-
facture of Our Colony of New Zealand, intended for exposition
at an Exhibition of the products, manufactures, and arts of
Our Colonial and Indian dominions, to be held in London
during the present year, for the due display of the said
articles at the said Exhibition, and for their subsequent sale
or careful return to their owners: And whereas it has been
represented to Us that it is desirable that additional Com-
missioners should be appointed for the before-mentioned
purposes:

Now know ye that We, reposing especial trust and confi-
dence in your knowledge, integrity and ability, do by these
presents authorize and appoint you to be such additional
Commissioners accordingly, with the powers and duties set
forth in the aforesaid warrant of the thirteenth day of
November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

In testimony whereof We have caused these Our letters to
be made patent, and the Seal of Our said Colony of New
Zealand to be hereunto affixed.

Witness Our Trusty and Well-beloved Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Our Army, Knight Grand Cross of Our Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Companion of Our Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Our Colony of New Zea-
land and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at Wellington, this twelfth day of
February, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-six, and in the forty-
ninth year of our reign.
