NOTICE.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the Thames River Steam Navigation Company (Limited), held at their office, this day, the following resolutions were proposed, seconded, and carried :—

  1. That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same.
  2. That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that L. J. Bagnall, J. Renshaw, and H. C. Gillespie (the Secretary), be and they are hereby appointed Liquidators for the purpose of such winding-up.

SOUTHLAND COUNTY.

SOUTH FOREST HILL CEMETERY (LATELY STYLED “FOREST HILL CEMETERY”).

IT is hereby notified that the Southland County Council, in pursuance of the powers delegated to them under the provisions of “The Cemeteries Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” have appointed the following persons (hitherto holding appointment as Managers of the Forest Hill Cemetery) to be Trustees of South Forest Hill Cemetery, namely :—
JAMES DUNLOP, Settler.
JOHN HAMILTON, Settler.
THOMAS HAMILTON, Settler.
ROBERT CARTER, Settler.
WILLIAM BAIRD, Settler.

And have appointed JAMES FRASER, Settler, to be a Trustee of South Forest Hill Cemetery, instead of Charles Kerr, who held appointment as a Manager of Forest Hill Cemetery, but who has left the district.

In the matter of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amending Acts thereof, and in the matter of the taking by the Waihemo County Council of certain lands in the County of Waihemo, in the Provincial District of Otago, for use as roads.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Waihemo County Council to take certain lands in the Provincial District of Otago, hereinafter more particularly described, for the purpose of constructing roads; and all persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing, within forty days from the publication hereof, to the said Waihemo County Council. And notice is hereby further given that the plans of the said lands are open for inspection at the office of the said Waihemo County Council, and the following is the description of the said lands respectively :—

  1. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 acres and 37 perches, being portion of Section 14, Block IV., Waihemo Survey District, and being land required for a deviation of the road-line known as the Bluff Road.
  2. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 37·3 perches, being portion of Section 10, Block IV., Dunback Survey District, and being land required for a deviation of the road-line known as Macrae’s Road.
  3. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 acres 1 rood 24 perches, being portion of Section 10, Block III., Highlay Survey District; and also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 7·3 perches, and being portion of said Section 107: both the aforesaid parcels of land being land required for a deviation of the road-line running through land owned by Even McDonald.
  4. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 5 acres and 15 perches, and being portions of Sections 1 of 7, 5, and 6, Block VII., Moeraki Survey District; and also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 16 perches, and being portion of Section 5, same block; and also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 34 perches, and being portion of Section 6, same block; and also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 roods 2 perches, and being portions of Sections 6, 3, and 4, same block; and also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 roods 15 perches, and being portion of Section 4, same block; and also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 roods 10 perches, and being portion of said Section 4; and also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 12 perches, and being portions of Sections 18, 29, and 4, same block: all the aforesaid parcels of land being land required for a deviation of the road-line known as Phillips Road.
  5. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 25·9 perches, being portion of Section 1, Block VII., Dunback Survey District, and being land required for a deviation of the road-line known as Massey’s Road.
  6. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 rood 37·6 perches, being portion of Section 14, Block VIII., Waihemo Survey District, and being land required for a deviation of the road-line running through land owned by Thomas Brown.
  7. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 roods 39·3 perches, being portion of Section 6A, Block VII., Waihemo Survey District, and being land required for a deviation of the road-line running through land owned by William Chisholm.
  8. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods 20·5 perches, being portion of Section 7, Block VII., Waihemo Survey District; and also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 30·3 perches, being portion of said Section 7: both the aforesaid parcels of land being land required for a deviation of the road-line running through land owned by Hugh Fraser.
  9. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 32 perches, being portion of Section 37, Block I., Hawksbury Survey District; and also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 34 perches, being portion of Sections 35, 37, and 33, same block: both the aforesaid parcels of land being land required for a road-line running through land owned by Thomas Calcutt and others.

Dated at Palmerston aforesaid, this twenty-second day of December, 1886.
