Mining Notices.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT WATER-RACE.
Reefton, 27th October, 1886.
To the Mining Registrar at Reefton of the Nelson South-west Mining District, and to all other persons whom it may concern.
I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a Water-race to divert and use water for driving machinery for saw-mill, commencing at a point about 2 chains below the crossing at Burke’s Creek, on the short track to Boatman’s, and terminating at saw-mill site about 30 chains on the west side of Buller Road, in Section No. 118, Block IX., Reefton Survey District.
The length of such race is 60 chains 125 links or thereabouts, and its intended course is east and west, 30 chains being through Crown lands, Section No. 102, Block IX., Reefton Survey District.
The mean depth of such race is 2ft. 6in., and the mean breadth is 3ft., and it is proposed to divert fifteen Government-heads of water.

To the Mining Registrar at Roxburgh of the Otago Goldfields District, and all other persons whom it may concern.
TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a Water-race and divert water for irrigation and domestic purposes, commencing at a point at Laurel Creek in Section 6, Block XIV., Benger District, about 14 chains above the main road, and terminating at Section 15 of the same block.
The length of such race is half a mile or thereabouts, its intended course is south-east, being partly constructed, and one month is required for its completion. The mean depth of such race is 1ft., and the mean breadth is 1ft. 6in., and it is proposed to divert one Government-head of water.
