NOTICE is hereby given that applications will be re-
ceived at the Crown Lands Office, Napier, on Thurs-
day, the 21st October next, for the sections enumerated in
the Schedule hereunder.

In event of more than one application being received for
any section on the 21st October, the right to occupy the
same will be decided by lot amongst the applicants, at the
Courthouse, Woodville, at 4 p.m., on Saturday, the 23rd
October.

Plans, terms, and further particulars can be obtained at
this office.

140 feet. Observations taken at 9.30 a.m.

REMARKS.—From 1st to 8th fine but dull, with slight rain,
and light winds from E. and S.E.; from 8th to 16th showery,
and at times squally, chiefly from S., with thunder on
11th, and hail on 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th, and snow on
hills on 14th; from 17th to 23rd fine, with N.W. wind; re-
mainder of month showery and rather windy, chiefly from
N.W.; prevailing N.W. wind. Maximum rainfall recorded
on 9th, ·58in. Maximum temperature in shade, 62·8°;
minimum, 34°. Mean temperature of dewpoint, 43·1°;
mean humidity, 78°. Earthquakes on 3rd at noon, two
shocks, E. to W., smart; on 7th, 7 a.m., slight, E. to W.
