powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excel-
lency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby order that the Government work known as the construc-
tion of defence works at Bastion Point, Provincial District
of Auckland, shall and may be constructed on or through
the parcel of land more particularly described in the Schedule
hereto.
SCHEDULE.
The parcel of land mentioned hereunder:—

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first
day of September, 1886.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

N exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Salmon and Trout Act, 1867," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
by and with the consent and advice of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that in all
parts of the said colony salmon, young salmon, salmon-fry,
trout, young trout, and trout-fry, together with all other sal-
monidæ, and also all whitefish, tench, and perch, which have
been introduced into the said Colony of New Zealand, shall be
and are hereby protected, subject, however, to the operation
of such open seasons for fishing for and taking such fish as
the Governor may from time to time declare by regulations
to be made under the said Act or any amendment thereof;
and doth hereby further declare that all the above-men-
tioned fish shall come under all the provisions of the said
Act in so far as such provisions are not inconsistent with the
provisions of "The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first
day of September, 1886.

Y virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-fourth section of "The Public Reserves
Act, 1881," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made
for public recreation in the Provincial District of Tara-
naki, and known as the Waimate Recreation-ground, and
described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is
hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be
subject to the provisions of "The Public Domains Act, 1881;"
and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered,
and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 13 acres 3 roods
2 perches, more or less, being Section No. 78, Block VI.,
Waimate Survey District. Bounded towards the North by
Sections Nos. 76 and 77, 1450 links; towards the East by a
road, 949·3 links; towards the South by Section No. 79, 1450
links; and towards the West by Section No. 43, 949·3 links:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first
day of September, 1886.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

HEREAS by the twelfth section of "The Public
Domains Act, 1881," it is, inter alia, enacted that
the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time
delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred,
save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons for
any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be
specified in such order, and that every such delegation may
from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked:
And whereas, pursuant to "The Public Reserves Act, 1881,"
by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land
described in the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought
under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of
the said "Public Domains Act, 1881:"
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
Colony of New Zealand, doth, by this present order, delegate
all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned,
except the powers under or conferred by sections five and
twelve, to
The Hawera County Council,
which shall be known as the Waimate Domain Board
(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipula-
tions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
the second Wednesday in each month, at two o'clock p.m.,
at the County Council Offices, Hawera, or at such other
time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the
Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the
thirteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-six. -
Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
at such meeting. -
Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
meeting may be adjourned from time to time. -
The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second
Wednesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
his successor. -
If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
time appointed for holding the same, the members present
shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
such meeting. -
If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a
Chairman. -
All questions shall be determined by the majority of
votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
