Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Line of Railway from Waikato to the Thames (Te Aroha Station Section).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the line of railway from Waikato to the Thames, being a line from a junction with the line from Kaukapakapa to Te Awamutu, at a point near Hamilton, to Grahamstown, passing by Hamilton, Te Aroha, and Ohinemuri (Te Aroha Station Section), is one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and which Act is, in the seventh section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorizing the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section seven of “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in any-wise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point situated on the north-eastern boundary of Lot No. 7, Block XXV., of the subdivision of Section No. 17, Block IX., Te Aroha Survey District, which point of commencement is also the point of termination of the middle line of the Waiho and Te Aroha Contracts portion of said railway, as described in a Proclamation dated the 9th May, 1883, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 44, and dated the 25th May, 1883; proceeding thence generally in a north-north-easterly direction for a distance of about 3232 links, passing in, through, into, or over the following lots, blocks, and streets of said subdivision, viz., Terminus Street, Lots Nos. 11, 12, 5, 4, and 3, Block XX.; Honi Street; Lots Nos. 13 and 14, Block XIX.; Burgess Street; Lipsey Street; Lots Nos. 7, 8, 9, 4, and 3, Block LVII.; Rewi Street; Lots Nos. 15, 16, 17, and 18, Block LVIII.; Brick Street; Lots Nos. 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, Block LIX.; and Emma Street; and all intervening places, roads, streams, and watercourses; and terminating at a point on the north-west boundary of said Emma Street distant about 180 links in a north-westerly direction from the north-easternmost corner of said Block LIX.: as delineated on a plan marked P.W.D. 14206, deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Auckland.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-second section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the sections of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart and declared open for application as a village homestead special settlement for perpetual leasing upon the terms and conditions fixed by an Order in Council issued on the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and made under the one hundred and sixty-third section of the said Act.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-second section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the block of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared open for the Gordon Special Settlement, upon the terms and conditions fixed by an Order in Council issued on the eleventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, and made under the one hundred and sixty-third section of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area situate in the Survey District of Wairere, in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 3,031 acres 3 roods 38 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, and 25A of Block VII., Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5A, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of Block X., and Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 of Block XI.; as delineated on the plans in the Survey Office, Auckland.
