NATIVE LAND COURT, NEW ZEALAND :
DISTRICT OF WHANGANUI.

IN the matter of a judgment of the Court given during a session opened at Whanganui, in the said district, on the 14th day of January, 1886, upon the hearing of a claim for the investigation of title to land situate in the said district, and known as “Pohonuiatane;” and in the matter of the application of Roreta te Honokore and others for a rehearing upon such claim :
I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court, and in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me, do hereby dismiss such application.

IN the matter of a judgment of the Court given during a session opened at Kihikihi, in the said district, on the 29th day of June, 1886, upon the hearing of a claim for the subdivision of land situate in the said district, and known as “Maungatautari No. 4G;” and in the matter of the application of Wiremu te Whitu and others for a rehearing upon such claim :
I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court, and in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me, do hereby dismiss such application.

Notice under “Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883.”

I, JOHN EDWIN MACDONALD, Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, do hereby, in compliance with the duty imposed upon me by “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883,” give notice that on the 6th day of August, 1886, the title to the land mentioned in the Schedule herein became, within the meaning of the said Act, ascertained; and, further, that dealings with the said land will cease to be prohibited by the provisions of the said Act on the 15th day of September, 1886.

SCHEDULE.

NAME by which land is known: Tautarawhata. Native Land Court District wherein situate: Whanganui. Area: 41 acres 1 rood 24 perches.

Goldfields Notice.

Gold-mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of “The Mines Act, 1877,” and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Lyell on or before the 27th day of September, 1886.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Lyell.

APPLICANT: James Inglis. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: Surprise Quartz-mining Company. 16 acres 2 roods, Owen District, in the Nelson South-west Mining District.

Sale of Crown Lands, Wellington Land District.

Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 19th July, 1886.

IT is hereby notified that the sections of land as per Schedule hereunder will be offered for sale on deferred payments, perpetual leases, the village and small-farm system, the small-run system, and for cash, in terms of “The Land Act, 1885.”
Applications for the deferred-payment sections will be received on Monday, the 23rd August, 1886, up to 4.30 p.m. In cases of contested sections, applicants will be informed, in order that they may forward tenders. If personal attendance is not possible, agents should be appointed, in order that tenders may be received before the 1st September.
Applications for village and small-farm lots will also be received on the 23rd August. Contested applications for small farms will be decided by lot, and those for each village section by auction, amongst the applicants, on Wednesday, the 25th August, at 2.30 p.m.
Tenders for perpetual leases will be received on Wednesday, the 1st September, up to 4.30 p.m.
The cash and the small-run sections will also be offered at auction, on Thursday, the 2nd September, at 2.30 p.m.
All applications, tenders, &c., must be sent to this office, where the auction will also take place.
