In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882," and in the
matter of the Canterbury Club Company (Limited).
N OTICE is hereby given that a General Meeting of the
Shareholders of the above company will be held on
the 9th day of October, 1886, at the Clubhouse, for the
purpose of laying before the meeting the Liquidator's
account, showing the manner in which the winding-up has
been conducted and the property of the company disposed
of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the
Liquidator.

BOROUGH OF ROSS.

N OTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the
Ross Borough Council to execute a public work by
the construction of a sludge-channel to the Totara River.
It is intended to take for this purpose 14 acres 2 roods 18
perches from Section 1458, and 3 acres 1 rood 6 perches from
Section 1006, both in the Borough of Ross, Mahinapua Sur-
vey District. The work to be undertaken on this land is the
construction of a channel, about 45 chains long, to remove
sludge, &c., from mining claims. Plans of the land to be
taken may be seen at the Council Chambers, Ross. Any
objection to execution of such work or taking such land
must be sent in writing to the Borough Council within forty
days from date hereof.

S UBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of £2
per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than
three months cannot be subscribed for.
Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.
Advertisements are charged at the uniform rate of 6d. per
line for each insertion.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
Booksellers and Advertising Agents will be allowed a com-
mission at the rate of 5 per cent.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday even-
ing in each week, and notices for insertion must be received
by the Government Printer before two o'clock of the day
preceding publication.
