  1. That I am the person who, subject to the provisions of
    “ The Land Act, 1885,” am tendering for the purchase of a
    lease.
  2. That I am purchasing such lease solely for my own
    use and benefit, and for the purposes of cultivation, and not,
    directly or indirectly, for the use or benefit of any other
    person whomsoever.
  3. That, including the said lands, I am not the owner,
    tenant, or occupier, directly or indirectly, either by myself or
    jointly with any other person or persons, of any lands any-
    where in the colony exceeding in the whole six hundred and
    forty acres.
  4. That I have not, within seven years from the date
    hereof, surrendered a lease with perpetual right of renewal
    of the lands for a lease whereof I am now tendering.
    And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously be-
    lieving the same to be true, and by virtue of an Act of the
    General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “ The Justices
    of the Peace Act, 1882.”

Crown Lands within the Okarito Riding, Provincial Dis-
trict of Westland, to be leased on the Perpetual-leasing
System.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned sections
are open for leasing for a term of thirty-years, with the
right of renewal for further terms of twenty-one years; and
that written tenders in sealed covers will be received up to
12 o’clock noon, on Wednesday, the 1st September, 1886.
The tenders will be opened at the meeting of the Land
Board on the same day. Maps, conditions, and tender-
forms at Land Office, Hokitika.

Description: Sections Nos. 668 to 672 are situate on the
eastern bank of the Waikukupa River, Waiho Survey Dis-
trict, and include the flat land between the sea-coast and
the foot of the terraces. Sections Nos. 673 to 677 are
situate in the Mahitahi River Valley, Bruce Bay Survey
District, and comprise lands north of and adjoining the
farm of Mr. Frank McGlone, at Flagstaff Creek.

Abstract of Conditions relating to Perpetual Leases.

Any person of seventeen years of age and upwards may
become a lessee. The highest tenderer, if his tender shall
be equal to or shall exceed the upset price, shall be declared
the lessee; but, if the rent offered by two or more tenderers
is the same in amount, then it shall be decided by lot which
person shall be the lessee. If there be only one tenderer,
then the rent shall be the upset price notwithstanding his
tender may have been higher.
Improvement Conditions: One-twentieth of the land leased
to be cultivated at the end of the first year, one tenth at the
end of the second, and one-fifth at the end of the fourth
year. Substantial improvements to the extent of £1 per
acre to be effected by the end of the sixth year. Personal
residence for the first two years from date of lease not
necessary.
Declaration required by the Act (see form below).
Six months’ rent, together with the sum of £1 10s., cost of
lease, &c., is required to be deposited in cash, or by marked
cheque, with every tender.
Tenders to be addressed to the Commissioner of Crown
Lands, Hokitika, and the words “Tender for Section No.
,” to be written on the envelopes enclosing said tenders,
deposits, declarations, &c.

Form of Declaration.

I, A.B. [Here insert place of abode and occupation], do
solemnly and sincerely declare—

public auction, at the Land Office, Christchurch, on the 11th

Run in Marlborough liable to forfeiture.

To Henry Watson, of Renwicktown, Shearer.

I GIVE you notice that the Glenfield Run, Kaituna Valley,
held by you under pastoral license, dated the 7th
December, 1885, is liable to forfeiture; and that, if the rent
now due, together with the penalty for non-payment of rent,
be not paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue within three
months after the insertion of this notice in the Gazette, I
shall forthwith declare the said run forfeited.
