I, WALTER HISLOP, of Dunedin, in the Provincial District of Otago and Colony of New Zealand, Manager of the Perpetual Trustees Estate and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited), do solemnly and sincerely declare—

In the matter of “The Mining Companies Act, 1872,” and the several Acts amending the same, and in the matter of the Gorge Gold-mining Company (Limited).
NOTICE is hereby given that, in respect of the said company, the Schedule required by section 108 of “The Mining Companies Act, 1872,” is open in my office in Trafalgar Street, Nelson, for inspection by the contributors to and creditors of the said company, and that the claims mentioned in the said Schedule will, after the lapse of twenty-one days from the publication of this notice, be paid at my said office.

In the matter of a Bill intituled “The Wairau Gas Company (Limited) Act, 1886.”
NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended to present a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand, at the present session, praying for leave to introduce a Bill to be intituled “The Wairau Gas Company (Limited) Act, 1886,” to authorize the said company to purchase the Blenheim Gasworks, and to open and break up, under the superintendence of the Corporation of the Borough of Blenheim, the soil and pavements, streets and roads, within the Borough of Blenheim; to break up bridge-sewers, drains, or sewers; and to erect pillars and lamps; and to lay down and place pipes, conduits, service-pipes; and to make and to do other works necessary or expedient for continuing to supply and to extend the supply of gas to the Borough of Blenheim, and to make and construct other works for supplying and extending the supply of gas to the said borough. It is also intended by the said Bill to take powers to the said company to contract with the said Corporation, or with any person or persons therein, for supplying gas or letting meters to them or any of them, and to enter upon buildings to ascertain the quantities of gas consumed, and sue for the recovery of rents for gas supplied; and to cut off and take away the supply of gas, and to enter upon buildings to take away gas-pipes, on non-payment of such rents; and to impose penalties for the wilful destruction of the company’s property.
Copies of the proposed Bill will be deposited in the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders forthwith.

GERALDINE COUNTY COUNCIL.
SEADOWN WATER-SUPPLY DISTRICT.
PURSUANT to the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the Acts amending the same, it is hereby publicly notified that the Geraldine County Council purpose taking certain lands, under the provisions of the above Acts, for the purpose of the construction of the headworks and race for the Seadown water-supply, being parts of Rural Sections 21122, 10454, 12448, 9854, 9855, and 15657, in the County of Geraldine, and as the same is more particularly delineated on plans to be seen at my office, Strathallan Street, Timaru, and at Mr. I. L. Morris’s Store, Pleasant Point.
All persons affected by the construction of the proposed works are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution thereof, and to lodge the same with me not later than Saturday, the 12th August, 1886.

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1882,” and in the matter of the Hokianga Saw-mill Company (Limited).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the above-named company, duly convened and held at the Terminus Hotel, Picton, on the 5th day of July, 1886, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—
Resolved, That the following extraordinary resolution be passed, namely, “That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the shareholders that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same.”
It was further resolved, “That, for the purpose of winding up the company, John Milne, of Auckland, and John Henry Dalton, of Koromiko, Picton, be appointed Liquidators.”
