COUNTY OF SELWYN. — WAIMAKARIRI WATER-RACE DISTRICT.—PROPOSAL TO RAISE A SPECIAL LOAN OF £5,000.
I HEREBY give notice that, at the poll taken on Thursday, the
10th June, 1886, the votes recorded were as follows:—
For the proposal 130
Against the proposal 1
As the number of votes given in favour of the proposal
exceeds three-fifths of the total number of votes given at
such poll, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

Taieri County Council, is published in accordance with
“The Counties Act, 1876,” and the Acts amending the same.

TAIERI COUNTY.—HENLEY DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
PURSUANT to the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1876,” I
hereby notify that on Thursday, the 27th day of May, 1886,
a poll was taken of the ratepayers in the above-named district, at the Henley Company’s Woolshed, at Henley, in the
said district, pursuant to the provisions of the said Act and
of “The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876,” upon a
proposal in the following terms:—
It is proposed, with the consent of the said ratepayers, to
raise a special loan of £3,000 for the purpose of undertaking
the under-mentioned works in the said Henley Drainage
District:—
(a.) A flood opening or outlet to be made into the Taieri
River from the drain to be known as No. 1 Drain ;
(b.) A flood opening or outlet to be made into the Taieri
River from the drain known as “Shands;”
(c.) A flood opening or outlet to be made into the Taieri
River from the drain known as “Renton’s;”
(d.) New main drains to be made in said district, and
existing drains to be cleared, regraded, and opened up :
And, with the consent of the said ratepayers, to levy a special
rate of three farthings in the pound, or such less sum as may
be required, on the rateable property in the said district, and
to pledge the same as security for the said loan.
Upon the said poll being taken there were recorded for the
said proposal twenty-seven votes, and against the same, two
votes ; and after the result of the said poll had been ascertained I gave public notice of the number of votes recorded
for and against the said proposal, and declared the resolution
in favour of the said proposal to be carried ; and I now hereby
give you notice of the aforesaid matters.

Amended Boundaries of Ruataniwha Road District.

THE following special order, made by the Waipawa
County Council, is published in accordance with “The
Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.
THAT this Council approves the further amended boundaries
of the Ruataniwha Road District, certified as required by
clause 15 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” by the Chief
Surveyor, so as to include the area intended to be comprised
in the description contained in the said special order.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed.

Amended Description of the Ruataniwha Road District.
That the present portion of the boundary-line between the
said road districts, being all that portion commencing on the
north from the Waipawa River and running in a southerly
direction to the Tukipo River, be abolished, and the following
boundaries substituted in lieu thereof : Commencing at the
point where the present boundary cuts the Tukipo River,
then following the Tukipo River to south-east corner of Block
LXV., from the said south-east corner of Block LXV.
running in a westerly direction along the southern boundaries
of Blocks LXV. and LXIV. ; thence in a northerly direction
by a road to the north-east corner of Block LXXI. ; thence
in a westerly direction to the north-west corner of Block
LXXI. ; thence in a northerly direction to south-east corner
of Block LXXIV. ; thence in a westerly direction along the
southern boundaries of Blocks LXXIV., LXXVI., and
LXXVII. ; thence by a line running due west to boundary of
provincial district ; thence by the boundary of the Provincial
District of Hawke’s Bay in a northerly and north-easterly
direction to the south boundary of the Hawke’s Bay County ;
thence by the south boundary of the said county to its
junction with the Makarara Stream ; thence by the Makarara
Stream to its junction with the Waipawa River ; thence by
the north-west bank of the Waipawa River to the most southwesterly corner of Block XCII. ; thence across the Waipawa
River to the starting-point.
I certify that the description of the boundaries of the Ruataniwha Road Board District, as amended, do not make any
change in what was evidently intended to be the area comprised in the description contained in a special order of the
Waipawa County Council, dated the 5th April, 1886.
