IN accordance with section 3 of “The Mines Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879,” a certificate of protection, from the 19th April, 1886, to the 31st December, 1886, is granted in favour of the Golden Point Company.

IN accordance with section 3 of “The Mines Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879,” a certificate of protection for twelve months, from the 1st January, 1886, to the 31st December, 1886, is granted in favour of the Red Hill Gold-mining Company for gold-mining lease No. 1376.

Gold-mining Lease to be granted.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of “The Mines Act, 1877,” and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Reefton on or before the 23rd day of June, 1886.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Reefton.

APPLICANT: Walter Irving. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: The United Devonshire Quartz-mining Company. 16 acres 2 roods, at Murray Creek, in the Nelson South-west Mining District.

Provincial District of Canterbury.—Small Grazing Runs for Lease by Public Auction under Part VII. of “The Land Act, 1885.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the leases for a term of twenty-one years of the small grazing runs enumerated will be offered by public auction at the Land Office, Christchurch, on Wednesday, the 30th June, 1886, at 12 o’clock noon.

The land is well covered with native grasses, a great deal of it being limestone country, but is difficult of access, Sections 35151 and 35157 being at present only accessible to stock- and horse-traffic. The sections are well-watered and are close to the coast, the average altitude not exceeding 1,000 feet.
On the fall of the hammer the purchaser must pay to the Receiver of Land Revenue six months’ rent, together with a license-fee of £1 1s., and hand to the Commissioner of Crown Lands the declaration prescribed by the Act, duly signed before a Justice of the Peace.
Plan may be seen, and full particulars as to the terms and conditions of the lease and renewals of the same may be obtained, at the Crown Lands Office, Christchurch.

NOTICE is hereby given to the Licensee, William Rose, that the rent of Run 149 being in arrear, the license is liable to forfeiture, and, should the rent together with the penalty not be paid within a period of three months from present date, forfeiture will be declared accordingly.

Notice under “Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883.”
JOHN EDWIN MACDONALD, Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, do hereby, in compliance with the duty imposed upon me by “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883,” give notice that on the 22nd day of May, 1886, the title to the land mentioned in the Schedule herein became, within the meaning of the said Act, ascertained; and, further, that dealings with the said land will cease to be prohibited by the provisions of the said Act on the 1st day of July, 1886.
