Withdrawing Land in Canterbury Land District from the Small-area Leasing System.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the sixth section of "The Land Act, 1885," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the Proclamation of the fifteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, by His Excellency the Governor, setting apart sections of land for leasing as small areas, with perpetual right of renewal, shall be and the same is hereby revoked in so far as it relates to the sections of land enumerated in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE:
Reserve 1497, 143 acres 1 rood 27 perches; part Reserve 1771, 40 acres 3 roods 6 perches.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-second section of "The Land Act, 1885," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the sections of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart and declared open, for village special settlements, upon the terms and conditions fixed by Order in Council issued on the sixth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and made under the one hundred and sixty-third section of the said Act.

Constitution of Ashburton Subdivision and Reconstitution of Christchurch and Timaru (Southern) Subdivisions of Canterbury Sheep District.—Notice No. 199.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by virtue of the powers conferred by the eighth section of "The Sheep Act, 1878," the Christchurch and Southern Subdivisions of the Canterbury Sheep District were constituted and proclaimed by a Proclamation bearing date the twenty-third day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine: And whereas it is expedient that the said subdivisions should be altered in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the eighth section of "The Sheep Act, 1878," do hereby constitute anew the Ashburton Subdivision, and reconstitute the Christchurch and Southern Subdivisions of the Canterbury Sheep District; and I do hereby declare that, for the purposes of the said Act, the said subdivisions shall hereafter be as the same are described in the Schedule hereto, and that such subdivisions shall be known by the names set over each such subdivision respectively in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
CHRISTCHURCH SUBDIVISION.
Bounded towards the North-east generally by the Waimakariri River, from its source in the Southern Alps to the sea; towards the East and South by the sea to the mouth of the Rakaia River; towards the South-west by the Rakaia River to its source in the Southern Alps; and towards the North-west by the summit of the Southern Alps to the starting-point.
ASHBURTON SUBDIVISION.
Bounded towards the North-east by the Christchurch Subdivision, hereinbefore described, from the source of the Rakaia River to the sea; towards the South-east by the sea to the mouth of the Opihi River; towards the South-west by the Opihi River to the main road through Burke's Pass, and by that road to the source of the Tekapo River; towards the West by Lake Tekapo and the Godley River to its source in the Southern Alps; and towards the North-west by the summit of the Southern Alps to the starting-point.
TIMARU SUBDIVISION.
Bounded towards the North-east by the Ashburton Subdivision, hereinbefore described, from the source of the Godley River to the sea; towards the East by the sea to the mouth of the Waitaki River; thence towards the South-west by the right bank of that river to its confluence with the Ohau River; thence by the right bank of that river, the north-eastern shore of Lake Ohau, and the right bank of the Dobson River to its source in the Southern Alps; and towards the North-west by the summit of the Southern Alps to the starting-point.
