Gold-mining Lease cancelled.

Wellington, 6th May, 1886.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has
been pleased to pronounce the under-mentioned gold-
mining lease cancelled, and that the ground is now open for
application as if no lease of the said ground had ever been
applied for:—
No. 1379. W. Goodyer and E. Dellow; Section 81, Block
XIII., Lyell; 16 acres 2 roods.

Certificate of Protection granted.

Mines Department,
Wellington, 7th May, 1886.

IN accordance with section 3 of "The Mines Act 1877
Amendment Act, 1879," this certificate of protection for
three months, from the 10th March, 1886, to the 9th June,
1886, inclusive, is granted in favour of the Homeward Bound
Extended Quartz-mining Company (Limited).

Gold-mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of "The
Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations made under
that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes,
it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of
Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicant
specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid
objections against such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged
with the Warden at Lyell on or before the 4th day of
July, 1886.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be
seen at the Warden's Office at Lyell.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: Mathew Byrne. Style under which it is in-
tended to conduct the business: Golden Hill Gold-mining
Company. 16 acres 2 roods, at Owen River, in the Nelson
South-west Mining District.
Given under my hand, at Nelson, this tenth day of
May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
six.

Kawatiri, in the Nelson South-west Mining District (formerly
held by the Reefton Quartz-mining Company).
Given under my hand, at Nelson, this tenth day of
May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
six.

May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-

Notice under "Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883."

I, JOHN EDWIN MACDONALD, Chief Judge of the Native
Land Court, do hereby, in compliance with the duty
imposed upon me by "The Native Land Laws Amendment
Act, 1883," give notice that on the 28th day of April, 1886,
the title to the land mentioned in the Schedule herein
became, within the meaning of the said Act, ascertained;
and, further, that dealings with the said land will cease to
be prohibited by the provisions of the said Act on the 7th
day of June, 1886.

SCHEDULE.

NAME by which land is known: Opatu. Native Land Court-
District wherein situate: Whanganui. Area: 6,537 acres.

the title to the land mentioned in the Schedule herein
became, within the meaning of the said Act, ascertained;
and, further, that dealings with the said land will cease to
be prohibited by the provisions of the said Act on the 6th-
day of June, 1886.

NAME by which land is known: Kauangaroa. Native Land-
Court District wherein situate: Whanganui. Area: 2 acres.
