of Revenues arising from the West Coast Settlement Re-
serves, and for Appointment of Fees.

Wm. F. DRUMMOND JERVOIS,
Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighth day
of September, 1885.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by "The West Coast Settlement Reserves
Act, 1881" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), it
is enacted that the Governor in Council may from time to
time make, alter, and revoke regulations, inter alia, for the
mode of application and expenditure of all revenues arising
from the West Coast Settlement Reserves, and by any such
regulations may from time to time appoint fees to be paid in
respect of anything done under the said Act in relation to
any such reserve:

And whereas the Governor did, by Order in Council dated
the twelfth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-three, make regulations and appoint fees to be paid
under the said Act: And whereas it is expedient to revoke
the said regulations and fees, and to substitute others in lieu
thereof:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him
by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke
the hereinbefore recited Order in Council and the scale of fees
and charges made thereunder, and in lieu thereof doth here-
by make the following regulations as those upon which the
revenues arising from the said reserves may be applied and
expended, that is to say,--
The Public Trustee may, from time to time out of the
revenues of the said reserves, apply such portion as he may
determine in repayment to the colonial revenue of any ad-

And by and with the like advice and consent, and in
exercise of the like power and authority, His Excellency the
Governor doth hereby appoint the following fees as those to

There shall be deducted from all moneys received by the
Public Trustee on account of the said reserves a commission
of five pounds per centum on the total amount so received
in any way whatsoever in the course of his management
of the said reserves: Provided, however, that, so soon as the
cost of surveys and of the construction of roads and bridges
in connection with the said reserves has been ascertained
and liquidated, the Public Trustee shall be entitled to deduct
a commission of seven and a half pounds per centum upon
the total amount so received as aforesaid, in lieu of the com-
mission of five pounds per centum hereby made chargeable.

There shall also be deducted by the Public Trustee from
the moneys aforesaid, in addition to the commission last
mentioned, a further commission of three per centum on the
first year's rent only, payable in respect of the said reserves,
for the purpose of defraying the expenditure necessarily
arising upon the initiation of the system of leasing and of
the management of the said reserves.

The Public Trustee may make a charge of not more than
five pounds for and in respect of the examination, inspection,
record, or approval of any leases, deeds, or other documents

fifteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and
