Application for Registration of a Trade Mark.

NOTICE is hereby given that Messrs. STANFORD AND MILNE, of High Street, Dunedin, in the Colony of New Zealand, Solicitors, have applied, on behalf of ALEXANDER THOMSON, trading at Dunedin aforesaid, under the style of "Thomson and Co.," as a Manufacturer of Aerated Waters, Ginger Ale, &c., to register, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of which the following is a description, viz.:—

Description of Trade Mark.

A rectangle, containing a lozenge figure on a blue ground; on the upper left-hand face of the lozenge the word "Guar-
anteed" in black letters, on the upper right-hand face of the lozenge the word "Non-alcoholic" in black letters, on the left-hand bottom face of the lozenge the word "Ginger" in white block letters, and on the right-hand bottom face of the lozenge the word "Ale" in white block letters; on the left side of the lower angle of the lozenge the word "New" in black letters, and on the right side of the lower angle of the lozenge the word "Label." The margin of the lozenge light green, bordered on the inside by a dark-green line, on the inner side of that a yellow margin, a black line, a white margin, and a pink line. Ground of the lozenge white, on which is placed a smaller lozenge of red, yellow, green, or black; on the left-hand upper side of the interior lozenge figure the word "Thomson," on the right-hand upper side of the lozenge the words "and Co.," on the left-hand lower side of the lozenge the word "Exhibition," on the right-hand lower side of the lozenge the words "Ginger Ale." The words, in running-hand, "Thomson & Co." on the right-hand lower margin of the interior lozenge, on the green border. At the right angle of the interior lozenge, on the white ground, two representations of exhibition medals, the right-hand medal being partly imposed upon the other; the medal on the right bears a Queen's head, with the words round the edge "Melbourne International Exhibition," while the portion of the medal on which it rests bears the branch of a bay tree, upright; the medals have both a yellow ground. At the left angle of the interior lozenge, on the white ground, two representations of the reverse side of exhibition medals, the left medal bearing the figure of an upright woman resting on a shield, on a yellow ground, being partly imposed on the other, bearing the branch of a bay tree, upright. On the upper central angle of the interior lozenge is the representation of a crown, surmounting a shield, with a yellow ground, in the centre of which is a lion couchant, in red. The ground of the interior lozenge is red, yellow, green, or black; in the centre a white cross, having the word "Purity" printed across it, with the word "Registered" at the top of the cross, the word "Trade" to the left of the left arm of the cross, the word "Mark" to the right of the right arm of the cross, and the word "Dunedin" at the foot of the cross. Along the lower white margin of the rectangle the words "Keep this bottle cool and on its side." The said lozenge may be used either with or without the said rectangle.

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade Mark shall apply.

NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has applied, on behalf of SIEBEL AND MATTHAEI, trading at Hamburg, in the Empire of Germany, Manufacturers of Cement, to register, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of which the following is a description, viz.:—

Description of Trade Mark.

An octagon-shaped label, in the upper portion of which is the device of a crown, and in the lower portion the name and address, "Siebel & Matthaei, Hamburg." In the centre of the label is printed the name and the quality of the article in respect of which the trade mark is used. The whole is enclosed within an octagon-shaped border.

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade Mark shall apply.
