Declaring Queensland to be no longer an Infected Place
under “The Public Health Act, 1876.”

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of all powers and authorities conferred upon
me by “The Public Health Act, 1876,” and of all other
powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in that behalf,
I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and notify that
the Colony of Queensland is no longer infected with the
disease called cholera, and that a Proclamation given under
my hand, and issued under the Seal of the Colony, on the
nineteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-four, and published in the New Zealand Gazette
of the same date, has no force or effect from the day of the
gazetting hereof.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this twelfth day of March, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-six.

trict of Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act,
1882,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road
in Cook County, Provincial District of Auckland :
And whereas the Cook County Council has laid before the
Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also
the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
section eleven of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of
every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in
that behalf; do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the pur-
poses of a road; and that, from and after the day of the
date hereof, the land so mentioned shall become absolutely
vested in fee-simple in the inhabitants of the Cook County,
discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or
interests of what kind soever, for use as a road.

Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Welling-
ton, and thereon coloured red.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable, for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the Foxton-New
Plymouth Railway, to take further land on the Moturoa
Section, in addition to land previously acquired for the pur-
poses of the said railway :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Public
Works Act, 1882,” and of any other power and authority in
anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is
taken for the purposes above mentioned.
