WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Canterbury, and Otago, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, being Lot No. 85A, Section No. 10, Suburbs of Auckland, containing 5 acres and 4 perches. Bounded towards the North-east by Lot No. 84, 1905·5 links; towards the South-east by a road-line, 233·7 links; towards the South-west by Lot No. 85B, 1940·9 links; towards the North-west by the Wesleyan Mission land, 261·5 links. For a metal reserve.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, being Lot No. 85B, Section No. 10, Suburbs of Auckland, containing 11 acres and 30 perches. Bounded towards the North-east by Lot No. 85A, 1940·9 links; towards the South-east by road-lines 141·5 links, 218·5 links, and 116·7 links, also by Lot No. 85C 365·5 links; towards the South-west by Lot No. 85C 301·4 links, a road-line 713·4 links, and by Allotment No. 7 1367·1 links; towards the North-west by Allotment No. 7 765 links, and the Wesleyan Mission land 424·3 links. For a recreation-ground.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, being Lot No. 85C, Section No. 10, Suburbs of Auckland, containing 1 acre. Bounded towards the North-east by Lot No. 85B, 301·4 links; towards the South-east by a road-line, 300 links; towards the South-west by a road-line, 308·4 links; and towards the North-west by Lot No. 85B, 365·5 links. For a public pound and site for Road Board offices.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, being Lot No. 85D, Section No. 10, Suburbs of Auckland, containing 5 acres and 18 perches. Bounded towards the North-east by Lot No. 84, 834 links; towards the South-east by a road-line, 639·3 links; towards the South-west by Lot No. 85E, 756 links; and towards the North-west by road-lines, 44·7 links, 218·6 links, and 392·5 links. For an addition to a school site.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, being Lot No. 85F, Section No. 10, Suburbs of Auckland, containing 1 rood 32 perches. Bounded towards the North-east by Lot No. 53, 501·3 links; towards the South-east by a road-line, 531·5 links; and towards the North-west by a road-line, 179 links. For a plantation.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 141 acres, more or less, being the Hamilton Lake, and known as Section No. 372 of the Parish of Te Rapa, Hamilton Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland. Bounded towards the North by a public road; towards the East generally by a public road and Sections Nos. 210 and 370 of the aforesaid parish; towards the South-west generally by the aforesaid Section No. 370 and Section No. 363 of the aforesaid parish, and a public road, to the place of commencement. For a recreation-ground.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Suburban Section No. 91, Town of Te Aroha, situate in Block IX., Aroha Survey District. Bounded North-easterly by a line, 1000 links; North-westerly by a line, 1000 links; South-westerly by a public road, 200 links wide, 1000 links; and South-easterly by a public road, 150 links wide, 1000 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For police purposes.

HAWKE’S BAY.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 7 acres, being Section No. 17, Block V., Tautane Survey District. For a school site.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 28 perches, being Section No. 1, Village of Matamau, Block X., Norsewood Survey District. For a gravel-pit.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 26 perches, being Section No. 22, Village of Matamau, Block X., Norsewood Survey District. For a gravel-pit.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, being Section No. 4, Village of Matamau, Block X., Norsewood Survey District. For the purposes of primary education.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods 32 perches, being Section No. 15, Village of Matamau, Block X., Norsewood Survey District. For the purposes of primary education.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 37 perches, being Section No. 18, Village of Matamau, Block X., Norsewood Survey District. For the purposes of primary education.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 2 roods 12 perches, being Section No. 31, Village of Matamau, Block X., Norsewood Survey District. For a school site.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 2 roods, being Section No. 33, Village of Matamau, Block X., Norsewood Survey District. For a resting-place for travelling-stock.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 1 rood 12 perches, being Section No. 34, Village of Matamau, Block X., Norsewood Survey District. For a resting-place for travelling-stock.

CANTERBURY.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 12 acres 1 rood 35 perches, more or less, being Section No. 2707 (in red), situate in the Hororata Survey District. Bounded towards the North by lines 59° 9′ 15″ 363 links, 106° 55′ 45″ 343·4 links, 75° 3′ 30″ 956·3 links, 78° 30′ 15″ 1008·6 links, 105° 10′ 30″ 993·8 links, 88° 39′ 30″ 920·7 links, 97° 55′ 15″ 1034·2 links, and 81° 37′ 45″ 2686 links; towards the West by the road-line east of Section No. 9882, 246·1 links; towards the South by a line bearing 59° 9′ 15″ 485·4 links, also by lines parallel to and 150 links distant from the northern boundary; and towards the East by the high terrace south-west of the River Wakaepa: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; save and excepting thereout two road-lines, one forming the south-western boundary of Section No. 34457, the other forming the south-western boundary of Reserve No. 1758 (in red): as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch. For water-race purposes.

OTAGO.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 1 rood 38·9 perches, more or less, situate in the Town of Hamilton, and being Sections Nos. 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14, Block I., and Sections Nos. 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17, Block II., of said town. Bounded towards the North-west by Crown lands 569 links, also by Eglinton Street 569 links; towards the North-east by Doon Street 249·9 links and 195·8 links; towards the South-east by Eglinton Street 569 links, also by Rozelle Street 672 links; and towards the South-west by Section No. 8 of said Block I. 250 links, also by Sections Nos. 8 and 18 of said Block II. 500 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a school site.
