A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway, to take further land at Oamaru, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of February, 1886.
Present :
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by “The Rating Act, 1876,” it is enacted that, if the local body or the Assessment Court fails through misadventure or accident to do anything which by that Act is required to be done in a fixed time, the Governor may, by an Order in Council published in the Government Gazette, and publicly notified, extend the time for doing such thing, and may by any such order validate anything which may have been irregularly done in matter of form, so that the intent and purpose of the said Act may have effect :
And whereas the Council of the Borough of Wanganui, being the local body of the Borough of Wanganui, lately appointed George Brooking, the Town Clerk of the said borough, and James Purnell, the Rate Collector for the said borough, Valuers for the purpose of making a valuation-list for the said borough : And whereas the said George Brooking and James Purnell, in pursuance of such appointment, have made a valuation-list for the said borough, and have signed and transmitted the same to the said local body : And whereas the said George Brooking and James Purnell inadvertently omitted, before entering upon the duties pertaining to their office as Valuers, to make the declaration prescribed by the fifth section of the said Act :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby declare that the valuation-list so prepared, signed, and transmitted as aforesaid shall be deemed to be valid, notwithstanding that the declarations aforesaid were not made by the said Valuers.

Defining the Purpose of a Reserve.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of January, 1886.

THE HONOURABLE THE MINISTER FOR PUBLIC WORKS PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is now vested in Her Majesty, being a line of road which was closed by a Proclamation dated the twenty-fifth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, issued under the hand of the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by “The Anderson’s Bay Road Lands Ordinance, 1864 :”
And whereas it is desirable that the land should be dealt with as provided by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881 :”
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and all other powers and authorities enabling me in that behalf, do hereby declare and define that the purpose for which the said land shall, from and after the day of the date hereof, be dedicated, shall be for a public highway.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 24 perches, more or less, situated in Block III., Anderson’s Bay Survey District. Bounded towards the North generally by Otago Harbour; towards the South generally by Anderson’s Bay Road and Sections Nos. 10, 11, and 12, Block III., Anderson’s Bay District ; and towards the South-west by the south-western boundary of Section No. 75, Block VII., Town District produced.
