PUBLIC NOTICE.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR A ROAD.

In the matter of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the subsequent statutes amendments thereof.

NOTICE of intention to take land for a road in the Mokau Riding, and in the Survey District of Waitara, in the County of Clifton, in the Provincial District of Taranaki:—

Notice is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the subsequent statutes amendments thereof, to execute certain public works, to wit, the construction of a road in the above riding and district respectively, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is further given that plans of the said road are deposited and open for inspection at the County Office of the County of Clifton, at Urenui; and notice is hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public works or the taking of such land shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the 11th day of December, 1885, to the Chairman, Clifton County Council, Urenui.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land containing 6 acres, more or less, situated in the Mokau Riding, being portion of Allotment part 9, in the Urenui District, Waitara Survey, and delineated upon a plan deposited in the Survey Office at New Plymouth.

WAITOTARA COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Waitotara County Council to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road in the County of Waitotara, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and for the purposes of such public work to take, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” the lands described in the Schedule hereto; and notice is hereby further given that copies of the plans of the said road and of the lands so required to be taken are deposited at the office of the Waitotara County Council, at Wanganui, and are there open for inspection; and notice is hereby further given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the 14th day of January, 1886, to the Waitotara County Council, at Wanganui.

SCHEDULE.

FIRSTLY. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 rood 19·8 perches, more or less, being part of Section No. 11 on the plan of the right bank of the Wanganui River, in the Provincial District of Wellington, commencing at a point on the north-east boundary of said section distant 1212·8 links from the eastern angle; and bounded towards the North-east by the Town Belt Road, 66·1 links; thence towards the West by a line, 700·4 links; thence towards the South-east by other part of said Section No. 11, 152·2 links; and thence towards the East, 534·4 links, to point of commencement.

Secondly. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 rood 24·5 perches, more or less, being other part of aforesaid Section No. 11, commencing at a point on the north-west boundary of said part section 490 links from the northern angle; and bounded towards the North-west by other part of said Section No. 11, 152·2 links; thence towards the West, 133·7, 239·5, and 210·1 links; thence towards the South-west by other part of said Section No. 11, 60·9 links; and thence towards the South-east by lines, 224·3, 249·7, and 273·1 links, to point of commencement.

Thirdly. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 roods 1·3 perches, more or less, being other part of aforesaid Section No. 11, commencing at a point on the north-east boundary of said part section distant 163·4 links from the northern angle; and bounded towards the North-east by other part of said Section No. 11, 60·9 links; thence towards the South-east by lines, 25·4, 249·7, and 561·7 links; thence towards the South-west by other part of said Section No. 11, 61·3 links; thence towards the North-west by lines, 571·2, 239·5, and 29·4 links, to point of commencement.

Fourthly. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 rood 10·7 perches, more or less, being other part of aforesaid Section No. 11, commencing at a point on the north-east boundary of said part section 957·1 links from the northern angle; and bounded towards the North-east by other part of said Section No. 11, 61·3 links; thence towards the South-east by a line, 523·7 links; thence towards the South-west by the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 10, 61·1 links; and thence towards the North-west, 522·2 links, to point of commencement.

Fifthly. All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 8 acres 1 rood 18 perches, more or less, and being parts of Sections Nos. 5 and 227 on the aforesaid plan, commencing at a point on the north-eastern boundary of said Section No. 5 distant 2786·5 links from the northern corner; and bounded generally towards the North-east by a part of Section No. 10 for a distance of 125·7 links; thence generally towards the South for a distance of 101·9, 101·1, 4075·6, and 317·8 links, and by connecting lines 15·3 and 129·4 links, also by lines 100, 89·8, 386·5, 2879·2, and 309·8 links; thence generally towards the South-west by the public road reserve, 278·1 links; thence generally towards the North by lines 303·2, 217·3, 2877, 402, and 100 links, and by connecting lines 129·4 and 15·3 links, also by lines 100, 322·9, 4080·7, and 100·9 links to point of commencement.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Hamburg-Magdeburg Fire Insurance Company of Hamburg has discontinued to do business in New Zealand; and it is also further notified that the business of the said company in New Zealand has been disposed of to the Equitable Insurance Association of New Zealand as from this day at 4 p.m.; and a continuation of the patronage given the Hamburg-Magdeburg Company is solicited for the Equitable Insurance Association.
