ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At Christchurch, this seventeenth day of January, 1885.
Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," His
Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated
the twenty-sixth day of April, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-one, making delegation of certain powers in
manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice
and consent, by this present order, delegate, but only with
respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule
hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except
the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve
thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known
as the Featherston Public Domain Board, namely,--

The FEATHERSTON TOWN BOARD

(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipulations
hereinafter contained, that is to say,--

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
    the third Monday in each month, at three o'clock p.m.,
    at the Town Board Office, Featherston, or at such other
    time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the
    Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the
    sixteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and
    eighty-five.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no
    other business than that so specified shall be transacted at
    such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the third
    Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
    discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
    vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
    his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
    such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the
    office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members
    may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 57Β½ acres, more or
less, being the Town Reserve on the plan of the Township
of Featherston. Bounded towards the North by Rural
Section No. 66, the abutment of a public road, and Suburban
Section No. 120, 1700 links; towards the East by Town
Sections Nos. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 53, 54, 55, 56,
57, 58, 59, 60, 61, and 62, and the abutments of Hart Street,
Revans Street, Fox Street, Bell Street, and Harrison Street,
and by the north side of Fox Street, 5600 links; towards
the South by the main line of road from Wellington to
Featherston, 650 links; and towards the West by Suburban
Section No. 464 and by Rural Section No. 516, 4803 links.

Also all that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 22 acres, more or
less, being Section No. 338 on the plan of the Township of
Featherston. Bounded towards the North by Section No.
487 and main line of road from Wellington, 2400 links;
towards the East by Sections Nos. 1 and 2, Town of Featherston, 720 links; and towards the South by the Otauira
River, 4400 links: as the same is delineated on the official
maps in the Survey Office, Wellington.

    the Courthouse, Waimate, or at such other time or place
    as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first
    meeting shall be held on Tuesday, the seventeenth day of
    February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
    no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
    at such meeting.

less, being Section No. 1857 (in red), situate in Waimate
Survey District. Bounded towards the North by Reserve No.
701 (in red); towards the North-east by a road-line, 2080 links;
towards the South-east by a road-line, 5770 links; towards
the South-west by a road-line, 2825 links; and towards the
North-west by a line at right angles to south-west boundary,
5,090 links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District
Survey Office, Christchurch.
