Vesting Reserves in the Town of Opotiki.

WHEREAS by section seventeen of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is provided that the reserves to be made for any borough or town district under such section shall be made only in cases where no such reserves for the purpose of sections three, five, and six of “The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875,” exist therein, or, if existing, do not equal or exceed the amount of reserves authorized to be made under such last-mentioned Act:

And whereas the existing reserves for the Town of Opotiki do not equal the amount of reserves authorized to be made under “The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875,” and it appears expedient to make the reserves herein-after mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the seventeenth section of “The Land Act 1885,” and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare that the land enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby reserved for the purpose stated opposite to the descriptions of such land in the second column hereto, for the benefit of the Town of Opotiki, as constituted under the provisions of “The Town Districts Act, 1881,” on the twenty-third day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay, Nelson, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that piece or parcel of land called or known as Section No. 88 of Block IX., Aroha Survey District, situated in the County of Piako, Provincial District of Auckland, and containing by admeasurement 10 acres 3 roods 30 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by Section No. 67 of Block IX. aforesaid, 1482 links; towards the South by Section No. 21 of Block XI., Aroha Survey District, 1954 links; and towards the North-west by a public road, 1475 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For railway purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods 33 perches, being Lot No. 180 of Section No. 10, Suburbs of Auckland. Bounded towards the North by Lot No. 68 of Section No. 10, Suburbs of Auckland, 800 links; towards the East by Lot No. 69A of section aforesaid, 620 links; towards the South by Windmill Road, 800 links; and towards the West by Lot No. 179 of Section No. 10, Suburbs of Auckland aforesaid, 620 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a recreation-ground.

All that parcel of land situated in the Town of Ngaruawahia or Newcastle, Provincial District of Auckland, known as Lot No. 664A, containing 3 acres 2 roods 8 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the North-west by Newton Street, 602 links; towards the North-east by Galileo Street, 590 links; towards the South-east by Kepler Street, 602 links; and towards the South-west by South Street, 590 links. For a recreation-ground.

All that piece or parcel of land, being called or known as Section No. 109A, Suburbs of Newcastle South, situated in Block VII., Newcastle Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 14 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by Airey Street, 1130 links; towards the East by a public road line, 920 links, and a line, 310 links; towards the South-west by the Waipa River; and towards the North-west by a public road line, 1040 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a cemetery.

All that piece or parcel of land called or known as Section No. 363 of the Parish of Waioeka, situated in the Opotiki Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 21 acres 2 roods 16 perches, more or less. Bounded on all sides by the Waioeka River. For the improvement and protection of the Waioeka River.

TARANAKI.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods 3 perches, more or less, being Section No. 20 of Block IX., Huiroa Survey District. Bounded towards the North by Section No. 4, 1262·6 links; towards the East by Section No. 7, 180 links; towards the South by the Township of Waipuku, 1334 links; and towards the West by the Mountain Road, 567·5 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.. For a school site.

HAWKE’S BAY.

All those pieces of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, being Sections Nos. 25 and 26, Block VI., Village of Danevirk, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods, and Sections Nos. 28 and 29, Block VII., Village of Danevirk, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 37 perches. As a gravel reserve.

NELSON.

All that parcel of land, being Sections Nos. 3, 10, and 11, Town of Denniston, County of Buller. Bounded on the North-west by Waimangaroa Road, 100 links; on the North-east by Sections Nos. 4 and 12, 250 links; on the South-east by Argyle Street, 100 links; and on the South-west by Sections Nos. 2 and 9, 250 links: and containing by admeasurement 1 rood. For police purposes.
