In the event of more than one application being received
for the above section the right to occupy the same will be
decided by public auction on Wednesday, the 25th November,
1885, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at this office.

Deposit of one-twentieth of the price of the land to be
tendered with application.

Sale of Leaseholds, Town of Dobson.

Hokitika, 9th October, 1885.

NOTICE is hereby given that leaseholds of sections of
land situate in the Town of Dobson, and described
in the Schedule hereto, will be offered for sale by public
auction, at the Courthouse, Greymouth, on Tuesday, the 17th
November, 1885, at 12 o'clock noon, subject to rent and
conditions hereunder set out.

Plans of Dobson to be seen at the District Land Office,
Hokitika, and at the Public Works Office, Greymouth.

The leaseholds of the sections will be offered for sale at
the uniform upset annual rental of £1 5s. per unimproved
section. Improved sections with value for improvements, as
below, added to upset price. Term of leaseholds, fourteen
years.

Conditions of Sale: The highest bidder to be the purchaser.
In those cases in which the purchaser has no value for
improvements to pay, the purchase-money must be paid on
the fall of the hammer; and when value for improvements
has to be paid, one-fourth of the whole amount must be paid
on the fall of the hammer by way of deposit, and the re-
mainder to the Receiver of Land Revenue, Hokitika, within
one month from the day of sale, and in default of such
payment the deposit will be forfeited and the section may be
resold. In cases where the person entitled to valuation for
improvements purchases, payment for rental only will be
required. If any dispute occurs as to who is entitled to
value of improvements, the question will be decided by the
Land Board.

Land Sale, Patea District.

Crown Lands Office,

THE under-mentioned rural section in the Patea District
will be sold by public auction, for cash, at the Land
Office, Patea, on Tuesday, the 17th November next, at
10.30 a.m:

Carlyle Survey District: Section 1, Block III., 184 acres
2 roods, at £2 per acre, with £221 14s. added for improve-
ments. This section is about three miles from Kakaramea,
and adjoins the Otoia Native Reserve.

Terms of Sale: One-fourth of purchase-money to be paid
at sale, and the balance to the Receiver of Land Revenue at
Patea within one calendar month from date of sale, otherwise
the deposit will be forfeited, and the contract for the sale of
the land thenceforth be null and void. Crown-grant fee to
be paid on completion of purchase.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of "The
Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations made
under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining
purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a
lease of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the appli-
cants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be
valid objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds
of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the
Warden at Lawrence on or before the 28th day of November,
1885.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be
seen at the Warden's Office at Lawrence.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: The Great Extended Sluicing Company (Regis-
tered). 2 acres 3 roods 34 perches, at Tuapeka East, in the
Tuapeka Mining District.

comprised in such leases are open to applicants for
leases or licenses, or other interests which may lawfully be
granted in the said ground as if no leases of the said ground
had ever been applied for.
