5th day of May, 1885, upon the hearing of a claim for in-
vestigation of title to land situate in the said district, and
known as "Haereawatea No. 2;" and in the matter of the
application of Ngapari Waiapu for a rehearing upon such
claim:
I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court,
and in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me,
do hereby dismiss such application.

session opened at Shortland, in the said district, on the
5th day of May, 1885, upon the hearing of claims for in-
vestigation of title to lands situate in the said district, and
known as "Te Wairere" and "Te Mimiakaiuru;" and in
the matter of the application of Ihapera Rangihoua for a
rehearing upon such claims:
I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court,
and in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me,
do hereby dismiss such application.

said district, and known as "Parawai No. 3;" and in the
matter of the application of Wiropo Hotereni Taipari and
another for a rehearing upon such claim:

and in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me,
do hereby dismiss such application.

Land Court, do hereby, in compliance with the duty
imposed upon me by "The Native Land Laws Amendment
Act, 1883," give notice that on the 17th day of October,
1885, the title to the land mentioned in the Schedule herein
became, within the meaning of the said Act, ascertained;
and, further, that dealings with the said land will cease to
be prohibited by the provisions of the said Act on the 26th
day of November, 1885.

Gold Fields Notices.
Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of "The
Mines Act, 1877," and the provisions of "The Mines
Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-
mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to
grant leases of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the
applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there
shall be valid objections against such leases.
Objections to the granting of such leases, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged
with the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Wellington, on or
before the 10th day of November, 1885.
Copy of the applications made and plans annexed may be
seen at the Crown Lands Office, Wellington.
