Gold Fields Notice.
Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of "The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Queenstown on or before the 10th day of November, 1885.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen at the Warden's Office at Queenstown.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANT: Frederick Evans. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: "Beatrice," 4 acres, at Skipper's Creek, in the Wakatipu Mining District.

Sale of Leaseholds, Town of Dobson.

Hokitika, 9th October, 1885.
NOTICE is hereby given that leaseholds of sections of land situate in the Town of Dobson, and described in the Schedule hereto, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Courthouse, Greymouth, on Tuesday, the 17th November, 1885, at 12 o'clock noon, subject to rent and conditions hereunder set out.
Plans of Dobson to be seen at the District Land Office, Hokitika, and at the Public Works Office, Greymouth.
The leaseholds of the sections will be offered for sale at the uniform upset annual rental of £1 5s. per unimproved section. Improved sections with value for improvements, as below, added to upset price. Term of leaseholds, fourteen years.
Conditions of Sale: The highest bidder to be the purchaser. In those cases in which the purchaser has no value for improvements to pay, the purchase-money must be paid on the fall of the hammer; and when value for improvements has to be paid, one-fourth of the whole amount must be paid on the fall of the hammer by way of deposit, and the remainder to the Receiver of Land Revenue, Hokitika, within one month from the day of sale, and in default of such payment the deposit will be forfeited and the section may be resold. In cases where the person entitled to valuation for improvements purchases, payment for rental only will be required. If any dispute occurs as to who is entitled to value of improvements, the question will be decided by the Land Board.

New Zealand Company's Land Claims.-Commissioner's Decision.
JAMES MEACHAM BATHAM, a Commissioner duly appointed by virtue of the Ordinance No. 15, Session XL., of the Legislative Council of New Zealand, to hear and decide claims to land by persons claiming title thereto from, through, or under the New Zealand Company, having investigated the claim of the person whose name appears in the Schedule hereto, do hereby decide that the said person is entitled to a grant from the Crown for the land set against his name; and, further, that it is expedient that the legal estate in such land shall be deemed to have vested in the claimant as from the date appearing in such Schedule.

First Meetings of District Boards under "The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885."

HIS Excellency the Governor has, in pursuance of section 9 of "The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885," been pleased to appoint that the first meetings of the several District Boards of Administration elected or constituted under the provisions of the said Act shall be held upon Thursday, the 5th day of November next, at the times and places, and shall be presided over by the members, respectively named in the Schedule hereto, and to appoint that two shall be the number of members necessary to constitute a meeting of the District Boards of North of Auckland, Thames, Bay of Plenty, Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, Picton, Nelson, and Tuapeka respectively, and that three shall be the number of members necessary to constitute a meeting of the other District Boards named respectively in the Schedule hereto.
