ALTERATION.—RICHMOND RIVER LIGHTS.
It is hereby notified for general information that on and after the night of Tuesday, the 15th September, the Red Light at the Richmond River Heads will be discontinued, and two bright lights exhibited in lieu thereof. These lights will bear E.S.E. and W.N.W. magnetic from each other at a distance of 100 feet. The upper light shown from the tower will be visible from seaward at a distance of ten or twelve miles; the lower light will not be visible at so great a distance.

INNER ROUTE TO TORRES STRAITS.
Change of Shape and Colour of Beacon on a Reef.
NOTICE is hereby given that the beacon on a Reef, near Cape Tribulation, is now square and painted black, instead of being red and triangular as formerly.

AUXILIARY LIGHT, CAPE CLEVELAND.
On and after this date a small catoptric light will be exhibited from the east side of the cape, 60 feet below the principal light. The two lights in line on a E. by S. ½ S. bearing lead midway between the 4-foot and the 20-foot rocks.
During south-easterly winds small craft, when bound round Cape Bowling Green, will find smoother water by using this passage than by passing outside the Salamander Rock.

Notice under “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883.”
WHEREAS the estate and interest of Te Waari, Te Rimene Rire, Te Ahikouhai, and Karamana Kiki, aboriginal natives of New Zealand, in the land described in the Schedule hereto, is vested in William Iorns and Manihera Maaka, and William Iorns and Hamuera Tangataking, as Trustees under the provisions of “The Maori Real Estate Management Act, 1867,” and the several amendments thereof, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such land, and application has been made for the removal of such restrictions:
It is hereby notified that it is intended, immediately after the expiration of sixty days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the alienation of the said land in respect of the interests aforesaid, in order that the said lands may be leased by the said Trustees for a term of fourteen years, from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.
Dated at Wellington, this sixth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

SCHEDULE.
All that piece of land situate at Te Oreore, in the District of Wairarapa, known by the name of “Okurupatu,” containing 5,600 acres, more or less, except thereout the portion of the said block lying to the south side of the main road from Masterton to the Upper Taueru, and excepting also all that piece of the said block, containing 20 acres, marked off for the use of the lessors.

WHEREAS demand having been made to me, the undersigned Colonial Treasurer of the Colony of New Zealand, in accordance with the provisions of “The Crown and Native Lands Rating Act, 1882,” by or on behalf of the said local bodies, for payment of the rates appearing to be payable under or by virtue of the said rolls:
