Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of “The
Mines Act, 1877,” and with the regulations made under
that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes,
it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of
Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicant
specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid
objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged
with the Warden at Reefton on or before the 2nd day of
September, 1885.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be
seen at the Warden’s Office at Reefton.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: John McQuillan. Style under which it is in-
tended to conduct the business: “The Miners’ Quartz-
Mining Company.” 16 acres 2 roods, at Big River, in the
Nelson South-West Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Nelson, this fourteenth day
of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
five.

IT is hereby notified that the land described in the under-
mentioned applications for gold-mining leases is now
open to persons holding miners’ rights or business licenses,
or to applicants for leases, the applicants having failed to
comply with the provisions of Regulation 20, Part IV., Ap-
pendix A, “The Mines Act, 1877,” viz. :

The application of James Malcolm, jun., for the Hustlers
Extended Gold-Mining Company, dated 6th February, 1884,
for 16 acres, Section 1, Block X., Mount Arthur District,
Golden Bay Mining District.

The application of James Malcolm, jun., for the Masonic
Gold-Mining Company, dated 6th February, 1884, for 16½
acres, Section 2, Block X., Mount Arthur District, Golden
Bay Mining District.

IT is hereby notified that the town, suburban, and rural
lands described in the Schedule hereunder will, in
pursuance of “The Thermal-Springs District Act, 1881,”
and “The Thermal-Springs District Act 1881 Amendment
Act, 1883,” be offered for lease by public auction for the term
of ninety-nine years, at this office, on Wednesday, the 16th
September next, at the hour of 11 o’clock in the forenoon.
