TRANSMISSION No. 446.—MARY ANN McLEAN,
Wife of DONALD McLEAN, of Wellington, Carpenter
(formerly MARY ANN DUTCH, Widow of JOHN DUTCH, late of
Wellington, Carpenter, deceased intestate), claiming as
Administratrix of the estate of the said John Dutch, has
applied to be registered as Proprietress of Sections 8 and 9,
Block V., Town of Kaitangata, Register-book, Vol. xi., folio
286. Applicant will be registered accordingly unless caveat
be lodged in this office within one calendar month from date
of the Gazette containing this notice.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.
Glenkenich, 3rd August, 1885.
To the Commissioner of Crown Lands at Dunedin.
I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a Water-
race to divert and use water for mining purposes, com-
mencing at a point on the Pomahaka River (east bank) about
10 chains north of the north-western corner of Section 53,
Block XIII., Glenkenich District, and terminating at a point
about 2 chains north-east of the south-western corner of
Section 54, same block and district.
The length of such race is 55 chains or thereabouts,
and its intended course is south-westerly along the eastern
bank of the Pomahaka River, and distant at its farthest
distance from the said river about 2 or 3 chains.
The mean depth of such race is 3 feet, and the mean
breadth is 5 feet, and it is proposed to divert twenty Govern-
ment-heads of water.

Mining District, and to all other persons whom it may
concern.
TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a Water-
race and divert water for machinery and irrigation
purposes, commencing at a point in Crookburn or Eight-mile
Creek, Lower Haeua District, and terminating on the farm
of the applicant, situate in Block VII., Tarras District.
Length of race: Two miles or thereabouts.
Mean breadth: 1½ feet.
Mean depth: 1½ feet.
Quantity of water proposed to divert: Two Government-
heads.
Time required for construction: Already constructed.
Term for which license required: Fifteen years.

I, the undersigned, hereby make application to register
the Venus Extended Gold-Mining Company as a
Limited Company, under the provisions of "The Mining
Companies Act, 1872."
- The name of the company is to be the Venus Extended
Gold-Mining Company (Limited). - The place of intended operations is at Murray Creek, in
the County of Inangahua, in the Colony of New Zealand. - The registered office of the company will be situated at
Bridge Street, Reefton, in the county and colony aforesaid. - The nominal capital of the company is twenty-four
thousand pounds, in twenty-four thousand shares of one
pound each, of which the sum of ten shillings per share is
considered as paid up. - The number of shares subscribed for is twenty-four
thousand, being not less than two-thirds of the entire
number of shares in the company. - The name of the Manager is Thomas Lee.
- The objects for which the company is established are—
Firstly, the acquisition of the gold-mining area, coal-mine,
tramways, water-rights, and other rights, and all other land,
rights, or property, at present held or belonging to the Venus
Gold-Mining Company (Limited); and, secondly, the carrying-
on of gold-mining and coal-mining operations upon the said
land or lands, or some parts thereof. - The names and addresses and occupations of the share-
holders, and the number of shares held by each at this date,
