NEW CALEDONIA.—EAST COAST.—BEACONS.
THE following beacons have been established on the east coast of New Caledonia:—

  1. A red beacon, surmounted by a red ball 8 feet above high tide, has been placed in 9½ feet near the detached shoal south of Wiciem, in lat. 20° 37′ 50″ S., long. 164° 54′ E.
  2. A red beacon, surmounted by a red ball 11 feet above high water, in 6 feet of water, near Cape Colnett, lat. 20° 29′ 42″ S., long. 164° 46′ 25″ E. At 218 yards to the eastward of this beacon there is (on French chart No. 3531) a clump with but 1½ feet on it, which was not discovered during the first examination.

Situation of Industrial School, Auckland, changed.

I T is hereby notified that the branch of the Auckland Industrial School now maintained in the building situate at Howe Street, Auckland, will, from this date, be maintained in the building known as Walmsley House, situate at Kent Street, Auckland, and that the use of the aforesaid building at Howe Street for industrial-school purposes will hereafter be discontinued.
