  1. The purchaser of any lands described in the First
    Schedule, upon the full payment of the purchase-money,
    and the purchaser of any lands described in the Second
    Schedule, upon the like payment, and also the fulfilment of
    the terms and conditions prescribed by "The Land Act,
    1877," "The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," and
    "The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1882," relating to
    land on deferred payments, will be entitled to his Crown
    grant, to be issued in the usual way upon payment of the
    fees prescribed by law.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day
of June, 1885.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the twenty-fourth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice and consent, by this present order, delegate, but only with respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Akaroa Public Domain Board, namely,--

The Corporation of the Borough of Akaroa
(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,--

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the fourth Wednesday in each month, at eleven o'clock a.m., at the office of the Borough Council, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the twenty-fourth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days' notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,

and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the fourth
Wednesday in December in every succeeding year thereafter,
elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
his successor.

  1. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
    such meeting.

  2. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
    the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
    bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chair-
    man.

  3. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement 10 acres 2 roods, more
or less, being Akaroa Town Section No. 45, and Reserves Nos.
88 and 1724 (in red), situate in the Akaroa Survey District,
and partly within the Borough of Akaroa. Bounded towards
the North by the Beach Road; towards the North-east by
Aylmer Street, about 700 links; towards the East and South
by South Street, about 1283 links; and towards the West by
Reserve No. 117 (in red) and the road leading thereto, about
1310 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District
Survey Office, Christchurch.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Portion of
a Reserve.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is,
amongst other things, enacted that the Governor
may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or
alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter
vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the pur-
poses named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act,
whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case of any
reserves made under the authority of section one hundred
and forty-four of "The Land Act, 1877," if it shall, in the
opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose
of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or pre-
sumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other pur-
pose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expe-
dient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve
for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more
purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by
notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such
change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in
such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same
is intended to be so made :

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in
exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," aforesaid, declare
my intention to change the specific purpose of a portion of
the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule
hereto, the area of which is described in the second column
of the said Schedule, to the specific purpose set opposite
such description in the third column of the said Schedule.

Reserve 102, Town of Timaru, containing 20 acres. Reserved for general Government purposes. All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 8 acres, more or less, being part of Reserve No. 102, situate in the Suburbs of Timaru. Bounded towards the North by the other portion of said Reserve No. 102; towards the East by a road along the beach; towards the South by Abattoir Reserve; and towards the West by Suburban Section No. 1702. For a recreation ground.
