A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The Land Act,

1877," it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclama-

tion in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of

any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of land

as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on de-

ferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day on

which the land shall be open for application; and that he

may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred pay-

ments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by

any Land Board, and may also from time to time alter, amend,

or revoke any such Proclamation:

And whereas the land specified in the Schedule hereto was,

with other lands, set apart for sale on deferred payments on

the thirteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and

eighty-five:

And whereas the Land Board of Otago did, on the twenty-
ninth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
five, pass a resolution recommending that the said land

should be withdrawn from the deferred-payment system:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the aforesaid

recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,

the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance

and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the

above-named Act, do hereby revoke the Proclamation above

referred to, so far as it relates to the section therein men-
tioned and included in the Schedule hereto, and do proclaim

and declare that the said section is hereby withdrawn from

the operation of the deferred-payment system.

eighth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
five, shall be the day on which the said land shall be open for

application, in allotments as surveyed and marked on the

selection map in the principal land office of the district.

And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of "The

Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do hereby fix the

price at which the land so described shall be sold to be the

price stated in the Schedule hereto.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities

vested in him by the second section of "The Land

Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1882," and of every other power

and authority enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency

the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the

advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said

colony, doth hereby declare that the sections of land enume-

rated in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the pro-

visions of sections three to forty-eight of "The Land Act

1877 Amendment Act, 1882."
