The results of the collection made in February and March last, arranged in two tables, are published for general information.

No account of produce of grass seed was obtained in 1884.

Note.—In the returns of Agricultural Statistics as above summarized, gardens and orchards attached to residences (20,254 acres), plantations of forest trees (24,688 acres), holdings of one acre or less in extent, and holdings occupied by aboriginal natives, are not included. The total in the column for other crops (22,163 acres) includes 3,393 acres in maize and sorghum, 819 in rye and bere, 10,056 in peas and beans, 4,870 in mangold, beet, carrots, &c., 1,228 in hops, 79 in tobacco, and 1,718 in other crops.
