Proclaiming a Tailings Site at Tinker's.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the ninety-second section of "The
Mines Act, 1877," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
shall be set apart for the deposit of tailings and débris from
the gold workings or mining operations at Tinker's, or for the
discharge of water, tailings, and refuse therefrom.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 92 acres, more or less, situate
in Block VII., Lauder District, and being Pre-emptive Right
A, under Application No. 6862, on Run No. 223. Bounded on
the North-west by Crown lands, 2144 links ; on the North-
east by Crown lands, 4289 links ; on the South-east by Crown
lands, 2144 links ; and on the South-west by Crown lands,
4289 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same ; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this fifteenth day of May, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
five.

Certain Rivers, &c., notified under "The Timber-floating
Act, 1884."

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the second section of "The
Timber-floating Act, 1884," I, William Francis Drummond
Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby notify that the following rivers, streams, and tidal
creeks within the colony may be used under license for the
purposes of the said Act:—

  1. The Rangitopuni River and the Long Bush Creek, their
    tributary streams and branches, situate in the Waitemata
    County, Provincial District of Auckland.
  2. The Waihou River, with its respective tributary streams
    and branches, all situate in the Thames and Piako Counties,
    Provincial District of Auckland.
  3. The Hikutai a River and the Waipakehe Stream, with
    their respective tributary streams and branches, all situate
    in the Thames County, Provincial District of Auckland.
  4. The Oruaiti River, the Stony River, the Mangawhero
    Stream, the Te Renga Stream, the Ngatuturu Stream, the
    Takakuri Stream, the Wainui River, the Kaho Wainui
    River, and the Te Kowai River, with all their respective
    tributary streams and branches, all situate in the Mangonui
    County, Provincial District of Auckland.
  5. The Pupuke River, the Kaeo River, the Waihuka
    Stream, the Inumia Stream or Creek, the Waiari River, the
    Rimu Creek, the Upukerau Creek, and the Takou River,
    with all their respective tributary streams and branches, all
    situate in the Mangonui and Hokianga Counties, Provincial
    District of Auckland.
  6. Hay's Creek, with all its tributary streams and branches,
    situate in the Manukau County, Provincial District of Auck-
    land.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General

1877," it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclama-
tion in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of
any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of
