Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not ; and, in the case of any reserves made under the authority of section one hundred and forty-four of "The Land Act, 1877," if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of a portion of the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto, the area of which is described in the second column of the said Schedule, to the specific purpose set opposite such description in the third column of the said Schedule.

Defining the Purpose of Reserve at Foxton.

WHEREAS by the fifth section of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is, amongst other things, enacted that, in the case of any public reserve now vested in Her Majesty or the Governor, whether the same be granted or not, such reserves not being for one of the purposes comprised in Class I., if there shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be any doubt or uncertainty as to the purpose for which such reserve was set apart, the Governor may, by notice gazetted, define such purpose or purposes as to either the whole or any part of such reserve :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was reserved by the Superintendent of Wellington for public purposes :
And whereas it is expedient to define the specific purpose for which such lands shall hereafter be set apart :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," aforesaid, declare my intention to define the specific purpose of the reserve described in the first column of the said Schedule hereto to be the purpose set opposite such description in the second column of the said Schedule.

Authorizing Sale of Reserves at Palmerston North.

BY virtue of the power and authority contained in "The Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1884," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Corporation of the Borough of Palmerston North to sell by public auction, after three months' notice duly advertised in the local newspapers, portion of Subsection one of Section two hundred and twenty-five, Borough of Palmerston North, containing two acres two roods, more or less.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eighth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Vesting Reserves in the Town of Wyndham.

WHEREAS by section thirty-eight of "The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1884," it is provided that the reserves to be made for any borough or town district under such section shall be made only in cases where no such reserves for the purpose of sections three, five, and six of "The Plans of Towns Regulations Act, 1875," exist therein, or, if existing, do not equal or exceed the amount of reserves authorized to be made under such last-mentioned Act :
And whereas the existing reserves for the Town of Wyndham do not equal the amount of reserves authorized to be made under "The Plans of Towns Regulations Act, 1875," and it appears expedient to make the reserves hereinafter mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the thirty-seventh and thirty-eighth section of "The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1884," and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare that the lands enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby reserved for the purposes respectively stated opposite to the descriptions of such land in the second column hereto, for the benefit of the Town of Wyndham, as constituted under the provisions of "The Town Districts Act, 1881," on the twenty-third day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.
