investigation of a title of land situate in the said district, and
known as "Rawhitiroa;" and in the matter of the applica-
tion of Te Katoroto Hamuera and another for a rehearing
upon such claim:

a rehearing upon such claim:

Land Court, do hereby, in compliance with the duty
imposed upon me by "The Native Land Laws Amendment
Act, 1883," give notice that on the 21st day of April, 1885,
the title to the lands mentioned in the Schedule herein
became, within the meaning of the said Act, ascertained;
and, further, that dealings with the said lands will cease to
be prohibited by the provisions of the said Act on the
31st day of May, 1885.

Gold Fields Notices.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of "The
Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations made under
that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes,
it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of
Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicant
specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid
objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged
with the Warden at Stafford on or before the 7th day of May,
1884.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be
seen at the Warden's Office at Stafford.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: Francis Day Lockwood. Style under which it
is intended to conduct the business: "The Tasman Gold-
Mining Company." 16 acres 2 roods 4 perches, at the head-
waters of the Taipo River, 110 chains north-east from
Browning's Pass, in the Waimea Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Hokitika, this twentieth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-five.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned application
for a gold-mining lease has been withdrawn, and that
the ground is now open for application as if a lease of the
same had never been applied for, viz.:—

Company; 10 acres, Lyell Creek. Dated 2nd January, 1885.
