THAT Messrs. Udy and Gallon, of Matarawa, Saw-millers, be authorized to construct and work a tramway along and across a certain road in Subdivision No. 5 of the Taratahi-Carterton Road District, known as Moffat’s Line.

THE following extracts from regulations respecting the introduction of sea-borne sheep into New South Wales from other Australian Colonies are published for general information.

IMPORTED STOCK ACT OF 1871 AND THE IMPORTED STOCK ACT AMENDMENT ACT OF 1884.
His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has been pleased to cancel Nos. 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 of the regulations of the 5th January last, issued under the above-named Acts, and to substitute the following regulations in lieu thereof, which are hereby published for general information.

SHEEP FROM AUSTRALIAN COLONIES BY SEA.

No sheep shall be landed at any port or place in this colony except at the port of Sydney.

No colony shall be deemed to be a clean colony in which scab or catarrh or any other infectious or contagious disease exists or is suspected to exist, nor any colony in which scab shall have existed within the next preceding two years, and no sheep shall be imported except from a clean Australian colony.

No sheep shall be imported except by vessels that have not traded to any but a clean Australian colony within the next preceding twenty-four months, nor by any vessel which shall within the period hereinbefore mentioned have had any sheep on board from any colony other than a clean Australian colony.

Every vessel on which it is intended to carry any such sheep shall be thoroughly cleansed and disinfected before the sheep have been shipped.

All such sheep shall be accompanied by a certificate and declaration, to the effect of Form 2 hereto, that they have been examined one by one by the Chief and another
