Gold Fields Notices.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of “The Mines Act, 1877,” and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch, on or before the 7th day of May, 1885.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen at the Crown Lands Office, Christchurch.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: James Warner. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: “The Mystery Quartz-Mining Company.” Extent of land applied for: 16½ acres. Term for which required: Fifteen years. No. 25.

Sale of Crown Lands by Auction, Marlborough.

THE Land Board of the Marlborough Land District hereby notifies that at noon on Tuesday, the 26th May, 1885, at the Survey Office, Blenheim, the undermentioned sections of town land will be offered for sale by public auction at the upset prices stated below:—

LEASES FOR THIRTY YEARS.

Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 22nd April, 1885.

WRITTEN tenders (in sealed covers) are invited for the under-mentioned sections, in accordance with “The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1882.”

TENDERS.

The price tendered must be stated in writing as well as in figures, accompanied by a statutory declaration, together with six months’ rent at the rate tendered, and a fee of £1 10s. for lease and registration, to be lodged with the Commissioner of Crown Lands, at the Crown Lands Office, Wellington, not later than 4.30 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, the 27th May, 1885.

The tenders will be opened at the meeting of the Land Board on Thursday, the 28th May, 1885 (the following day), at 10 o’clock a.m., when the highest tenderer, if the tender shall equal or exceed the upset annual rental per acre fixed by the Board, will be declared the lessee. The tenderers must appear at the Land Board, either in person or by an agent authorized in writing, on the day on which the tenders are opened.
