Land taken for a Road in Wairau Road District, Provincial District of Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in Wairau Road District, Provincial District of Auckland:

And whereas the Wairau Road Board has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section eleven of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anyway enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so mentioned shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever, for use as a road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 19 perches, more or less, situated in the Parish of Wairau, in the Wairau Road District, and being a portion of a road-line, 100 links wide, traversing the south-eastern portion of Section No. 17; commencing at a point on the south-western boundary of Section No. 17 at a distance of 190 links or thereabouts from its south-eastern angle. Bounded—North-westerly by lines, 69, 226, and 165 links respectively; generally Easterly by lines, 151, 23, 224, and 32 links respectively; South-westerly by a line, 114 links, to the commencing point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on plan marked P.W.D. 12943, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day on which the land shall be open for application; and that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by any Land Board, and may also from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Wellington did, on the second day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, pass a resolution recommending that the land described in the Schedule hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on deferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for sale on deferred payments; and that Tuesday, the second day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, shall be the day on the which the said land shall be open for application.
