Land taken for Further Portion of Hurunui–Waitaki Railway (Portion of Branch from Washdyke to Opawa, Fairlie Creek, and Burke’s Pass).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for further portion of the Hurunui–Waitaki Railway, namely, portion of branch from Washdyke to Opawa, Fairlie Creek, and Burke’s Pass :
And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land in the manner hereby provided have been observed and performed :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by section one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified.

All in the Provincial District of Canterbury; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plans marked P.W.D. 12730, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for further portion of the Hurunui–Waitaki Railway, namely, portion of branch from main line to Upper Ashburton :
And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land in the manner hereby provided have been observed and performed :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by section one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified.

ERRATA.—In New Zealand Gazette No. 20, of the 2nd April, 1885, page 385, in notice of appointment of Justices of the Peace, for “William Blythe, Esq.,” read “William Robert Blythe, Esq.;” and for “James Brathwaite Butcher, Esq.,” read “James Butcher Brathwaite, Esq.”
