Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case of any reserves made under the authority of section one hundred and forty-four of "The Land Act, 1877," if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto to the specific purpose set opposite such description in the second column of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Reserve.

All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section No. 986, Town of Westport. Bounded towards the North by Lyndhurst Street, 500 links; towards the East by Peel Street, 1000 links; towards the South by Brougham Street, 500 links; towards the West by Queen Street, 1000 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section No. 987, Town of Westport. Bounded towards the North by Lyndhurst Street, 500 links; towards the East by Queen Street, 1000 links; towards the South by Brougham Street, 500 links; towards the West by Russell Street, 1000 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

The said sections having been reserved as sites for public buildings or other purposes of the General Government, by Order in Council dated the 7th January, 1869.

Intended Purpose.

For a recreation-ground.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Trustees appointed for the Maintenance of the Brunnerton Public Cemetery.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of "The Cemeteries Act, 1882," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

Name of Public Cemetery, and Description of Land.

BRUNNERTON.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Land District of Westland, containing by admeasurement 10 acres more or less, situate in Blocks X. and XI. in the Arnold Survey District, being part of the Westland Grey Coal Reserve. Bounded on the West by a line running due south through tube No. 22; North and East by the Arnold Road; and on the South by a line due west to include the quantity.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-seventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, situate in the Town of Palmerston, containing by admeasurement 10 acres and 20 perches, more or less, and marked Cemetery Reserve, Block XXXIII., on the map of the said town. Bounded towards the North by Section No. 32, 1206 links; towards the East by Section No. 33, 840 links; towards the South by a road-line, 1206 links; and towards the West by a road-line, 840 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-seventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.
