The Lakes District Acclimatisation Society shall have the control and management of all salmon and trout now or hereafter to be placed in the lakes in the said Lake County, and for this purpose may divide the lakes into suitable areas. The right of fishing such areas to be let by the said society from year to year by auction, tender, or otherwise as may be deemed best for propagation, culture, and conservation of such salmon and trout, and the prevention of poaching.

The season for netting shall extend from the first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, to the thirtieth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, both days inclusive.

No nets of a smaller mesh than three inches in diameter for the taking of fish shall be used in any portion of the Lakes District, and all fish caught by net not larger than eleven inches in length shall be forthwith returned to the water.

No nets for the taking of fish shall be used in any of the rivers, streams, or creeks within the Lake County.

No person shall be permitted to use a net for the purpose of fishing unless he holds a valid license so to fish from the Lakes District Acclimatisation Society.

Any person holding a fishing license under the provisions of the regulations for fishing in the Lake County, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirtieth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, may fish with rod and line in any lake, river, or stream within the said district, anything contained in these regulations notwithstanding.

The Lakes District Acclimatisation Society, through their officers, rangers, inspectors, or any other person duly authorized, shall have full power at any time to inspect, examine, and search for any nets, tackle, engines, boats, or any utensils or instruments used and employed for the taking of fish within the area of the said Lake County.

Any person committing a breach of any of the foregoing regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a penalty not exceeding fifty pounds.

Any person who puts, throws, or places, or allows to be put, thrown, or placed, into any river, lake, or stream in the said District of Lake County any dynamite or other explosive substance, or any matter or liquid deleterious to fish, shall, on conviction, be liable to a penalty not exceeding one hundred pounds.

Licenses to net salmon and trout in the aforesaid District of Lake County will be issued under the hand of the Secretary of the Lakes District Acclimatisation Society, Queenstown.

The moneys realised by the leasing of the lakes for the purpose of fishing therein with nets shall be placed by the President of the society to the credit of a separate fund, called the Lakes District Acclimatisation Fund, and such moneys shall be devoted to the propagation, culture, and conservation of the fish in Lake County; and the surplus, if any, to the credit of the society from such source on the first day of January in each year shall be disposed of as the Governor in Council may deem fit.

Extending Time for Election, Town District of Dargaville, County of Hobson.

WHEREAS by misadventure the annual general election of members of the Dargaville Town Board was not held in the month of September last, as provided by section five of “The Town Districts Act 1881 Amendment Act, 1883:” And whereas it is considered desirable to extend the time within such election may be held:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Town Districts Act, 1881,” and “The Town Districts Act 1881 Amendment Act, 1883,” do hereby extend the time for holding the annual general election of the members of the said Dargaville Town Board to the thirtieth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five; and do hereby appoint Frederick Louis Beart, of Dargaville, to be the Returning Officer to manage and conduct the said election; and do hereby order that such election shall be held at the Public Hall, in the Township of Dargaville, on the thirtieth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, aforesaid.

Abolishing Sittings of District Court of Wellington.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The District Courts Act, 1858,” and of every other power and authority in this behalf enabling me, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the sittings of the District Court of Wellington, as previously fixed and appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirtieth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Vaccination Districts constituted.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in the Governor by “The Public Health Act, 1876,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing vaccination district known as the Greytown District; and do declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said district is hereby divided anew into two vaccination districts, the names whereof shall be the Greytown and Featherston Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the same names as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date herewith, made under the provisions of “The Marriage Act, 1880.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirtieth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Revocation of Notice withdrawing Land from Sale in the Land District of Canterbury.

IN pursuance of every power and authority in that behalf enabling me, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke so much of a certain instrument signed by me on the twenty-seventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, and issued under the one hundred and sixty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1877,” as relates to the block of land described in the Schedule hereto, which with other land was withdrawn from sale as therein mentioned; and I do hereby also declare that this revocation shall take effect on and after the third day of July next.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that triangular block of land in the County of Selwyn, in the Road District of Rakaia, Land District of Canterbury, containing 20 acres 2 roods, more or less. Bounded on the North-west by Rural Section 33912; and on the North-east and South-east by a public road.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirtieth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Taranaki, Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago, and Westland, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.
